NO INJURIES REPORTED AFTER BUILDING COLLAPSES IN NEW MADRID

A building collapsed Monday morning in New Madrid.

According to the New Madrid Police Department, the building was located on Main Street between Mill and Mott Streets. 

Officials say that no injuries have been reported in connection to the collapse.

 

POPLAR BLUFF AUTHORITIES TRYING TO IDENTIFY SUBJECTS IN CONNECTION TO COIN MACHINE BREAK INS

Poplar Bluff police are asking for the public’s help in identifying multiple subjects who are suspected of breaking into area coin machines.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, video footage was captured of a total of four subjects. The subjects are suspected of breaking into coin machines at multiple businesses in Butler County.

The video is available on the Poplar Bluff Police Department Facebook page.

Anyone who has information on the identity of the subjects is asked to contact Detective Dan Mustain at 573-686-8632.

 

POPLAR BLUFF CELEBRATES MISSOURI’S BICENTENNIAL

Today marks the 200th anniversary of the state of Missouri joining the United States and multiple events are planned for today in Poplar Bluff to celebrate.

The Missouri Bicentennial Block Bash will kick off at 11 am with hot dogs and chips available at Southern Care and Comfort. Beginning at noon the Art Museum will be presenting sidewalk chalk and crafts.

The Poplar Bluff Historic Train Depot will be offering root beer floats from 1 to 5 pm this afternoon and the History Museum will be hosting an ice cream social from 4 to 8 pm.

President James Monroe approved statehood and entry into the United States of America for the state of Missouri on August 10th, 1821. Missouri was the 24th state to enter the union. 

74TH PUXICO VFW HOMECOMING BEGINS TODAY

Today is the beginning of the 74th Puxico VFW Homecoming.

The official opening is scheduled for 10 am this morning in Puxico. Events are scheduled for every day through Saturday including the Miss Puxico contest tonight, Church night on Wednesday, and music in Veterans Park on Thursday.

Saturday will include the Goat Run 5K, parade, and quilt show, among other events.

TWO RIPLEY COUNTY ROADS TO BE CLOSED TODAY

Two roads in Ripley County are scheduled to be closed today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform pavement repairs.

According to MoDOT, Route CC will be closed from Route 21 to County Road CC-1, while Route FF will be closed from Route 21 to County Road A-2.

Weather permitting, work will take place on both projects from 7 am to 4:30 pm. 

 

PAVEMENT REPAIRS TO FORCE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROUTE FF IN WAYNE COUNTY

Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will be in Wayne County for a road project today.

According to officials, Route FF in Wayne County will be closed from 7 am to 3:30 pm today as crews perform pavement repairs. 

The work zone will be located between Route 34 and Route U.
