POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT TO OPEN NEW STATION THIS MORNING

The grand opening of the new Poplar Bluff Police Department headquarters is today.

According to police officials, the new facility, located at 911 North Shelby Road, will open at 8 am. 

All services previously provided at the Poplar Street location will now be done at the headquarters on Shelby Road. 

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME SET AT OFC BASEBALL TOURNAMENT

The Championship game is set for the 2022 Ozark Foothills Conference Baseball Tournament.

Greenville will be facing Doniphan on Thursday at Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff for the OFC Championship. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 pm.

The Bears advanced to the finals following their win Tuesday over Naylor, 13-0. The Dons defeated Twin Rivers 6-4 to secure their place in the championship game.

Naylor and Twin Rivers will feature in the third place game, which is scheduled to begin at 1 pm on Thursday.

POPLAR BLUFF ROBOTICS CLASS RECEIVES FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR DONATION

A Georgia based philanthropy group has donated thousands of dollars to a Southeast Missouri robotics class.

The Montgomery Family Foundation has funded more than $5,000 in equipment enhancements for the Poplar Bluff High School Robotics Program to replace second-hand tools.

Officials say that the donation helps make sure that the Iron Mules are not at a competitive disadvantage against larger organizations this school year.

PARADE HIGHLIGHTS 2022 BROSELEY HOMECOMING

Multiple events, including the annual parade, are planned for the 2022 Broseley homecoming this weekend.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 am on Saturday, with participants lining up beginning at 9 am at Twin Rivers High School.

Prior to the parade, the Broseley Senior Community Center will be hosting breakfast starting at 7 am.

There will also be live music, a 50/50 drawing, and a silent auction. 

BRIDGE REPAIRS FORCE CLOSURE OF STODDARD COUNTY ROAD

Route V in Stoddard County is being closed this week as contractor crews perform bridge repairs.

According to MoDOT, the closure is located between County Road 234 and County Road 232. 

Weather permitting, work will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both today and tomorrow.

ROUTE U IN STODDARD COUNTY TO BE REDUCED FOR PAVEMENT REPAIRS

Route U in Stoddard County will be reduced both today and tomorrow as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs. 

The section of roadway involved in the repairs is located from Route H to County Road 651 near Bernie.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
