SCHOOL BUS CRASH INJURES 20 PEOPLE IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
A total of 20 people were injured when a school bus crashed late Tuesday night.
According to Superintendent Seth Bryant, students and coaches of the Koshkonong School District were returning to school after basketball games Tuesday night when their school bus was involved in an accident on Highway 99.
Officials with the Highway Patrol tell us that the bus ran off the roadway and struck several trees before coming to rest on its passenger side in a ditch.
Two adults and 18 teenagers were injured in the wreck. All of the injuries were minor except for one teenager who suffered moderate injuries. The injured were transported to area hospitals.
KENNETT MAN SENTENCED FOR PRODUCING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
A Kennett man has been sentenced to over 17 years in prison for producing child pornography.
Officials with the United States Attorney’s Office tell KWOC News that 30 year old Travis Crane was sentenced to serve 210 months in federal prison for the offense of sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to court documents, law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at Crane’s residence in July of 2020 after receiving a tip that he was using Facebook to upload files containing child pornography.
During an examination of Crane’s mobile phone, investigators discovered multiple images and videos of child pornography.
After serving his sentence, Crane was ordered to be placed on supervised release for 20 years. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
HEAVY RAINFALL POSSIBLE WITH TODAY’S STORM SYSTEM
Weather officials say that there is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms today in Southeast Missouri.
According to a Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service, widespread showers and a few thunderstorms are expected Thursday, with heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches possible.
The rainfall could lead to scattered nuisance flooding issues.
Officials say that damaging winds and a few tornadoes are also possible with this storm system.
MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON A STATUTORY RAPE CHARGE
Authorities in Stoddard County have arrested an area man on multiple sex related charges.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 52 year old Thomas Bader, of Bloomfield, was recently arrested on three counts of statutory rape or attempted statutory rape 1st degree, one count of statutory rape 2nd degree, six counts of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy, two counts of statutory sodomy 2nd degree, and one count of sexual misconduct involving a child under 15.
Bader’s bond has been set at $50,000, cash only.
FEED AND SEED EVENT SET FOR TODAY IN POPLAR BLUFF

BRIDGE REMOVAL PROJECT UNDERWAY IN CLAY COUNTY
Highway 141 in Clay County Arkansas is temporarily closed due to the removal of an existing bridge and installation of a corrugated metal pipe culvert.
Officials say that the work zone is located near McDougal, three miles south of Highway 62.
Crews began the project Wednesday morning and no timetable was given for when it would be completed.
