TWO IN CUSTODY IN CONNECTION TO SHOOTING IN POPLAR BLUFF

Two suspects are in custody and one injured following a shooting in Poplar Bluff.

Lieutenant Josh Stewart with the Poplar Bluff Police Department tells KWOC News that at around midnight Wednesday evening, they received multiple reports of shots fired in the area of Harper and Main Street.

While responding, officers observed a dark colored passenger car leaving the area and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle struck the driver’s side of the Patrol Unit. Three black male subjects then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Two of the subjects were apprehended. They have been identified as 18 year old Aijalon Marshall and 19 year old Lonnie Ruff II, both of Poplar Bluff. Both men were taken into custody and booked in the Butler County Jail pending the filing of charges for Resisting Arrest. 

While searching the area of the original report, officers located a 27 year old male from Poplar Bluff suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to an area hospital. His condition is currently listed as critical, but stable.

The Poplar Bluff Police Department is asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact investigators at 573-785-5776.

  

FANS TO PINK OUT MULES FOOTBALL STADIUM TONIGHT

Poplar Bluff Mules Football Fans are being encouraged to wear their pinkest clothing for tonight’s game.

The Mules will be hosting the Fox warriors tonight for both Senior Night and the annual Pink Out Game. There will also be a tailgating party held before kick off outside of the stadium.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RELEASED ABOUT FIERY BUTLER COUNTY WRECK

Updating a story we have been following for you this week, additional information has been released about a fiery Butler County wreck.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred Wednesday evening on US Highway 60, east of Highway Z, when a gas tanker struck the back of a truck.

The tanker then traveled off into the median and overturned, before catching fire.

The driver of the tanker suffered minor injuries in the wreck.

US Highway 60 had to be closed for a period of time while crews were clearing the scene and putting out the fire. 

BUTLER COUNTY FAIR BEGINS TODAY AT RAY CLINTON PARK IN POPLAR BLUFF

The 64th Annual Butler County Fair is set to begin today.

The two day event will be held at Ray Clinton Park in Poplar Bluff. Tonight’s festivities will include the open rodeo. There will also be food trucks and vendors available for visitors.

Coming up on Saturday, the fair will feature an antique tractor show, kid’s zone, and live music.

DONIPHAN CITY WIDE YARD SALE SET FOR THIS WEEKEND

This weekend will be the time to find lots of sales in Doniphan.

The Doniphan City Wide Yard Sale will be Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm.

Organizers say there will be numerous yard sales, food vendors, and other attractions as a part of the event.

TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY TO REGISTER FOR YOUTH BASKETBALL IN POPLAR BLUFF

Today is the final day for parents to get their kids registered for youth basketball in Poplar Bluff.

According to Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation, both boys and girls in 1st through 4th grades can be registered for youth basketball games that will start on November 1st.

The games will be played on Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Thursdays at the Middle School.

The cost is $20, which includes a T-shirt. Registration forms are available at the Parks and Recreation office on North Second Street and online at pbparks.org.
