SCHOOL BUS INVOLVED IN CRASH IN POPLAR BLUFF

A school bus was involved in a motor vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Poplar Bluff.

According to authorities, a Poplar Bluff school bus and a passenger vehicle collided on West Pine Street in the area of the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce.

One person in the passenger vehicle was injured and transported from the scene by ambulance.  

Poplar Bluff R-1 Superintendent Scott Dill tells KWOC News that no children were hurt in the wreck and another school bus came to pick them up. 

AG CONNECT 2023 SET FOR THIS WEEKEND

Ag Connect 2023 is set for this weekend in Poplar Bluff.

The Ag Industry conference will be held today and tomorrow at the Black River Coliseum.

There will be a variety of workshops and vendors for the Ag industry today.

Saturday will have family activities, a dinner, and a question and answer session with legislators and industry leaders.

YOUTH VOLLEYBALL REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS TODAY IN POPLAR BLUFF

Parents in Poplar Bluff are running out of time to register their children for youth volleyball.

According to the Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation Department, today is the last day for parents to register their girls in 3rd through 6th grade for volleyball. The registration fee is $20 and games will begin in March.

Parents can get their children registered at the Park office on North Second Street or online at PBParks.org.

GLENNONVILLE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS TO HOST EVENT FOR ST JUDE

An area organization will be hosting a Chili Cook-Off this weekend to raise money for the kids at St. Jude.

The 1st Annual Glennonville Knights of Columbus Chili Cook-Off has been scheduled for 4 to 7 pm on Saturday.

You can buy a bowl for $10 and then vote for your favorite chili with donations. All vote proceeds will go toward St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

MOBILE FOOD PANTRY SCHEDULED FOR NEXT WEEK IN POPLAR BLUFF

A Poplar Bluff church is teaming with the Southeast Missouri Food Bank to give away food to Butler County residents.

New Life Christian Church United will be hosting a special one day Mobile Food Pantry on Thursday, January 26th at 3 pm.

The food will be available to Butler County residents on a first come, first served basis. Attendees must show a driver’s license or state of Missouri issued identification with their current address along with a proof of residency.

Only one box will be given per address.

New Life Christian Church United is located at 301 North Main Street in Poplar Bluff. 

HIGHWAY 53 TO BE REDUCED NEAR QULIN TODAY FOR TREE TRIMMING

Route 53 in Butler County will be reduced to one lane today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews trim trees along the roadside.

The section of roadway to be affected is located around County Road 205 Qulin.

Weather permitting, work will take place today from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
