BOYS SEMIFINALS TO START TODAY AT 2023 OZARK FOOTHILLS CONFERENCE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Boys’ semifinal matchups are scheduled for today at the 2023 Ozark Foothills Conference Basketball Tournament in Greenville.

The day will start with the second semifinal of the Boys’ Junior Varsity bracket, as Greenville takes on Neelyville at 4:30 pm.

The first boys varsity semifinal between Greenville and Twin Rivers will begin at 6 pm. The second semifinal will see Doniphan face Clearwater at 7:30 pm.  

Every game of the tournament, including boys’ varsity and junior varsity games along with girls’ varsity games, will be broadcast live on the Today’s Talk KWOC Facebook page at facebook.com/TodaysTalkKWOC and the River Radio Youtube page at youtube.com/RiverRadioPB.

73 YEAR OLD PATTERSON MAN DIES FROM INJURIES RECEIVED IN WEEKEND CRASH

One person has died following a single vehicle crash over the weekend in Wayne County.

According to the Highway Patrol, 73 year old James King, of Patterson was traveling on Highway 34, near Piedmont, when his vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

Officials say that King was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

TYLER HANSBROUGH INDUCTED INTO THE MISSOURI SPORTS HALL OF FAME

A Poplar Bluff Mules legend is now a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

Tyler Hansbrough was inducted into the Hall of Fame during a ceremony on Sunday in Springfield.

As a Mules player, Hansbrough scored over 2,500 career points and brought Poplar Bluff two state championships. He was also named a McDonald’s All American.

He then went on to play for the North Carolina Tar Heels, before moving to the NBA.

Brian Rosener, president of the Poplar Bluff Sports Hall of Fame, says that they will undoubtedly be joining the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in honoring Tyler’s legacy in the future. 

CORNING MAN KILLED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK

A Northeast Arkansas man has died from injuries he received in a single vehicle wreck.

According to the Arkansas State Police, 28 year old David Crawford Jr., of Corning, was driving on State Highway 135 early Sunday morning when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a telephone pole.

Officials say that Crawford was killed in the wreck. 

  

CRASH NEAR WARDELL CLAIMS LIFE OF MARSTON WOMAN

A single vehicle crash in the Missouri bootheel has claimed the life of an area woman.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred early Sunday morning on Route B, in the Wardell area, when a vehicle ran off the side of the road, struck a culvert, and overturned.

The driver, identified as 24 year old Brittany Schubert, of Marston, was ejected from the vehicle. She was later pronounced dead at the scene. 

WATER MAIN BREAKS IN ELLSINORE, BOIL WATER ORDER ISSUED

Residents in a Southeast Missouri town are being advised to boil their water.

According to Ellsinore Mayor Luthe Ogden, a water main broke in the city on Monday.

The break has been fixed, but a boil water order will be in effect for Ellsinore while officials are waiting on test results.
