SUSPECTED DRUG DEALER ARRESTED FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION IN MISSOURI BOOTHEEL

A suspected drug dealer has been arrested in the Missouri Bootheel.

According to the Kennett Police Department, over the past few weeks the KPD Street Crimes Unit has been conducting a narcotics investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine.

During the investigation officers identified the suspected dealer as Dwayne Gibbs, of Kennett.

On Sunday, the KPD Special Response Team executed a search warrant at Gibb’s residence. During the search, officers seized 19.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine and $12,600 in cash.

Gibbs was arrested and placed in the Dunklin County Jail.

According to Missouri Case Net, Gibbs is scheduled to appear in court this morning on a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance.

TEENAGER FLOWN TO MEMPHIS HOSPITAL FOLLOWING CRASH IN STODDARD COUNTY

A Dexter teenager was seriously injured in a single vehicle wreck on Sunday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 19 year old Natalie Bolin was driving on Highway 25, south of Bloomfield, when her vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail and a tree.

Bolin, who was reportedly not wearing a safety device, was ejected from the vehicle.

She was later flown to a Memphis hospital with serious injuries.

FREE MEDICAL CLINIC TO BE OFFERED THIS WEEKEND IN POPLAR BLUFF

A free medical clinic will be offered in Poplar Bluff this weekend.

Footsteps Medical Missions will be presenting the clinic from 8 am to 3 pm on Saturday, March 18th at the Black River Coliseum.

OZARK BORDER ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE WARNING OF SCAM PHONE CALLS

Officials with an area power company are warning their customers about a reported phone scam.

According to Ozark Border Electric Cooperative, they have had multiple customers report that they were receiving calls from scammers.

The calls say that the customer's power would be shut off if they didn’t pay a certain amount of money.

ROADSIDE WORK SCHEDULED FOR TODAY NEAR SENATH

Route 412 in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane this morning as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform roadside work.

The section of roadway being reduced is located from Route V to County Road 568 near Senath.     

Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

NEW MADRID ROAD TO BE CLOSED TODAY FOR CULVERT REPLACEMENT

Route U in New Madrid County will be closed both today and tomorrow so crews can replace a culvert under the roadway.

According to MoDOT, the work zone is located between Route W and County Road 732 in New Madrid.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
