TOMORROW MARKS THE BEGINNING OF THE 2023 MISSOURI USA GYMNASTICS ADVANCED STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN POPLAR BLUFF

The Missouri USA Gymnastics Championships are beginning tomorrow in Poplar Bluff.

We spoke with Jessica Luse, from Xtreme Gymnastics in Poplar Bluff, who gave us a preview of this weekend’s event.

“We are honored to be able to host this event, it’s State Championships for Missouri Gymnasts in Silver and Gold divisions. This competition you're going to see little ones from age seven all the way up to 17 year olds that are going to be competing.

So throughout the season the gymnasts compete at multiple gymnastics competitions all over the state and they reach qualifying scores that earn them a spot at Missouri state championships. We have over 900 registered athletes that'll be competing and 13 of those are our very own extreme gymnasts.

We have nine Silvers and four Golds that are going to be competing this weekend. So I'm the owner of Xtreme Gymnastics. We have been open for almost 24 years, serving the Poplar Bluff community and we offer services for kiddos 12 months up to 18 years.

We've been a part of Missouri gymnastics for so long and just excited to be able to bring this amazing sport to our town for everyone to see what gymnastics is really all about.”

The Missouri USA Gymnastics championships is scheduled for Friday through Sunday at the Black River Coliseum

Tickets will be available at the door for $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 5 to 12. Children under the age of 5 will get in for free.
