MAN ARRESTED ON TWO COUNTS OF RAPE AND FOUR COUNTS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT

Multiple victims have come forward with reports of sexual abuse which resulted in the arrest of an area man on multiple counts of rape and sexual assault.

Officials with the Paragould Police Department tell KWOC News that 31 year old John Lang, of Paragould, has been taken into custody on two counts of felony rape and four counts of felony sexual assault.

Earlier this month, four victims, all under the age of 17, were interviewed by investigators and disclosed sexual acts that would constitute sexual assault by the definition of the statute. The victims each named Lang as the offender.

Lang was booked into the Greene County Jail and his bond was set at $100,000.

CREWS RESPOND TO FIRE IN POPLAR BLUFF

Poplar Bluff fire crews responded to a structure fire Sunday night.

According to the Fire Department, a report was received regarding an unknown fire off of Highway 142, behind the social security office.

When crews arrived at the scene, they found a fully involved vacant structure in a wooded area.

Additional crews responded to assist with extinguishing the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

AUCTION ENDS THIS WEEK FOR HOME BUILT BY PB TCC BUILDING TRADES PROGRAM

There is still time to get your bid in for a home that was constructed by students in Poplar Bluff.

The Poplar Bluff Technical Career Center Building Trades Program constructed a three bedroom, two bathroom home with a two car garage on Township Line Road.

An auction is currently underway for the home, with the starting bid at $170,000. Bids will be accepted through 11 am on Thursday, June 22nd.

ONE PERSON FLOWN FROM THE SCENE OF A SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH NEAR CLARKTON

One person was flown from the scene of a single vehicle crash near Clarkton.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 25 year old Dakota Gray, of Clarkton, was driving on County Road 439 when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch.

Gray, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.

He was later airlifted to a Memphis hospital with serious injuries.

ROAD CLOSURE SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK IN STODDARD COUNTY

Route TT in Stoddard County will be closed this and next week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.

The section of roadway being closed is located from U.S. Route 60 to County Road 642 near Dudley.

Weather permitting, work will take place today through Thursday, June 29th from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. During construction, the route will be open to local traffic only.

CULVERT REPLACEMENT TO FORCE CLOSURE OF NEW MADRID COUNTY ROAD TODAY

Route MM in New Madrid County will be closed today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.

Officials say the road is scheduled to be closed today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The work zone will be located between Route D and County Road 644 near Lilbourn.
