Excessive heat and humidity are expected to cause dangerous conditions today in Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas.

Everyone is reminded to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions if you have to work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening hours.
