VEHICLE STRIKES A JUVENILE RIDING A BIKE IN POPLAR BLUFF
A Poplar Bluff juvenile was taken to an area hospital after getting struck by a vehicle while riding his bike.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, at around 8:30 pm Saturday night, officers responded to a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident on North Main Street at Benton Street.
At the scene, a juvenile male told officers that his mini bike was struck by a maroon pickup, which left the scene.
The juvenile suffered serious injuries and was transferred to a St. Louis hospital for treatment.
STATE FIRE MARSHAL INVESTIGATING POPLAR BLUFF STRUCTURE FIRE
A Missouri State Fire Marshal is investigating a structure fire from over the weekend in Poplar Bluff.
According to the Poplar Bluff Fire Department, crews responded to a building fire late Saturday night on Iron Bridge Road. At the scene, crews found a structure mostly involved in fire.
By the time crews arrived, flames were coming from the roof of the structure and a front exterior wall had collapsed.
Crews were able to get the fire under control and contacted the fire marshal to conduct the investigation.
No one was reported injured due to the fire and the cause is still under investigation.
POPLAR BLUFF FIREFIGHTERS TESTING LOCAL HYDRANTS
Poplar Bluff residents should not be surprised if they see water gushing from area fire hydrants.
The Poplar Bluff Fire Department is in the middle of a fire hydrant testing and maintenance operation.
Officials say that the procedure helps to ensure that quality water is provided to our areas as well as adequate water is available for fire fighting operations.
THREE POPLAR BLUFF RESIDENTS INJURED IN CRASH NEAR JACKSON
Three Poplar Bluff residents were injured in a motor vehicle crash near Jackson.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred Monday afternoon on Route W in Cape Girardeau County.
32 year old Samantha Cuevas, of Poplar Bluff, allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and struck another vehicle. Cuevas’s vehicle then overturned.
Cuevas, along with a 65 year old passenger in her vehicle and two people in the other vehicle, all received minor injuries.
A second passenger in Cuevas’s vehicle, 54 year old Vener Cuevas, suffered serious injuries. All five people were transported to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
PAVEMENT REPAIRS SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY
Route AD in Stoddard County will be reduced today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of Route AD being reduced is located from County Road 460 to County Road 442 near Dexter.
Weather permitting, work will take place today from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
MODOT CREWS TO BE WORKING TODAY NEAR DUDLEY
Route ZZ in Stoddard County will be reduced as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
According to officials, work is scheduled for today from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The section of roadway being reduced is located between County Roads 642 and 648 near Dudley.
