WOMAN REPORTED MISSING IN POPLAR BLUFF FOUND
A woman who was reported missing on Monday in Poplar Bluff has been found.
Lieutenant Josh Stewart with the Poplar Bluff Police Department tells KWOC News that 49 year old Debra Wright of Poplar Bluff, is safe and no longer considered missing.
The Police Department received several tips Tuesday afternoon indicating Debra Wright may be alive. While they do not know for certain why Wright did not come forward immediately, authorities say she had an active warrant for a parole violation.
Wright sent a time stamped photo showing she was alive and well through a third party. The date and time were handwritten on a piece of paper in the picture. Authorities say this was enough to call off the search for her.
She was reported missing on Monday and crews worked Monday and Tuesday searching in the area of the Sportsman Park Conservation Access on Black River in an attempt to find her.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Poplar Bluff Police Department, Butler County Coroner’s Office, and Poplar Bluff Fire Department were all involved in the search.
