MAN FLOWN FROM THE SCENE OF A WAYNE COUNTY CRASH
An Ironton man was flown from the scene of a crash Monday afternoon near Piedmont.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 73 year old Lawrence Youngman, of Ironton, was driving on Route HH when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck another vehicle.
Youngman suffered serious injuries in the crash and was flown to a St. Louis hospital. No injuries were listed for the driver of the second vehicle.
PARAGOULD WOMAN ONE OF THREE KILLED IN WEEKEND CRASH
A Paragould woman was one of three people killed in a weekend crash.
According to the Arkansas State Police, the crash occurred on State Highway 64 in Faulkner County shortly after 9 pm Saturday night.
75 year old Patricia Aikman, of Paragould, was killed in the crash, as were 37 year old Albert Davis, of Conway, and a minor.
77 year old James Aikmen, of Paragould, along with another minor, were injured and transported to area hospitals.
MAN CHARGED WITH ELDER ABUSE IN CONNECTION TO DEATH OF 83 YEAR OLD STODDARD COUNTY WOMAN
A man has been charged with elder abuse in connection to the death of a woman in Stoddard County.
According to Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham, on November 13th, Stoddard County 911 received an emergency call regarding an unresponsive female.
At the scene, deputies found 83 year old Nadine Teeters deceased.
Further investigation was conducted by the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Office and Missouri State Highway Patrol which resulted in the arrest of 59 year old Jerry Teeters, of Bloomfield.
Teeters is facing a charge of elder abuse and was held in custody on a $25,000 cash only bond.
TWO POPLAR BLUFF FOOTBALL PLAYERS PARTICIPATE IN THE BLUE GREY ALL-AMERICAN BOWL
Two Poplar Bluff football players were in Tampa Monday to play in the Blue-Grey All American Bowl.
According to Poplar Bluff Director of Athletics Kent Keith, both Darius Graham and Logan Hite played in the game for the North Squad.
The game was broadcast nationally on ESPN 3 and the archive is available on ESPN.com.
The Blue Grey All-American Bowl was created in 1989 to help prep prospects from all over the country receive national exposure and increase their chances to secure scholarships to a college.
POPLAR BLUFF BUDDY BALL TO HOST VALENTINE’S DANCE
Poplar Bluff Buddy Ball and PB Parks and Recreation will be hosting a Valentine’s Dance in February.
Officials say the dance is being held in honor of BuddyBall participants and friends in the community with mental, physical, and developmental disabilities.
The Dance is scheduled to begin at 6 PM on Friday, February 9th at the Westwood Event Center Ballroom. Tickets are available for $5 at PBBuddyBall.com. Tickets purchased at the door will cost $10.

MULTIPLE SOUTHEAST MISSOURI COMMUNITIES AWARDED FOR WATER QUALITY
Multiple Southeast Missouri communities have been recognized for their water quality.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has announced that Butler County Public Water Supply District #3, the city of Dexter, and the city of Matthews, have been awarded a Water Fluoridation Quality Award from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Fluoridation is the adjustment of fluoride in drinking water to a level that is effective for preventing tooth decay. The award recognizes those communities that achieved excellence in community water fluoridation by maintaining a consistent level of fluoride in drinking water throughout 2022.
For 2022, a total of 1,209 public water systems in 27 states received these awards, including 53 in Missouri.
