WINTERFEST KICK OFF SET FOR THIS WEEKEND

A kick off to winterfest event has been set for this weekend in Poplar Bluff.

The Winterfest Kick-Off will begin at 10 am on Saturday at Hendrickson Park. There will be sledding, snowball fights, food trucks, a hot chocolate stand, and more.

The event will continue until 2 pm and then move to the Black River Coliseum beginning at 4 pm for a pool party.

Winterfest, presented by Missouri Highlands Health Care will be held in downtown Poplar Bluff at the BRC from January 15th to the 19th.

Winterfest will include an ice skating rink, community resource tables, crafts, winter activities, vouchers for a free popcorn and hot chocolate per visitor.

BATTLE IN THE BLUFF SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 13TH

Over 350 cheerleaders will be gathering in Poplar Bluff this weekend for the Battle in the Bluff, presented by Mossy Oak Properties Mozark Realty and Southern Bank.

Poplar Bluff Cheer and Tumbling is hosting the 2nd annual competition at the Black River Coliseum on January 13th, beginning at 9 am.

Multiple teams will be competing against each other with a trophy going to the top team in each division.

Admission is $10 and children two years old and under will get in for free.

DATE SET FOR DONIPHAN R-1 PRE-K SCREENING

The Doniphan R-1 school district has set the date for screening for pre-kindergarten students.

According to school officials, screening will take place on Friday, March 15th.

To be eligible, children must be four years old before July 31st, 2024.

DEADLINE APPROACHING TO REGISTER FOR SPRING CLASSES AT THREE RIVERS COLLEGE

The deadline is approaching to get registered for Spring semester classes at Three Rivers College.

Registration is open for the Spring semester through this Friday, January 12th. The first day for classes will follow next Monday on January 16th.

DRAINAGE REPAIRS TO CAUSE DELAYS BEGINNING TODAY NEAR FISK

Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will perform drainage repairs beginning today on U.S. Route 60 in Stoddard County.

The section of roadway involved in the repairs is located between County Roads 685 and 683 near Fisk.

Weather permitting, work will take place today through Wednesday, January 17 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

SHOULDER REPAIR PROJECT SCHEDULED FOR THIS MONTH NEAR PARMA

Route 153 in New Madrid County will be reduced over the next two weeks as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform shoulder work. 

The section of roadway being reduced is located between Route D and Route 62 near Parma.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Friday, January 19.
