TWO KILLED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY CRASH

Two people are dead following a multi vehicle crash near Cardwell.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred Monday night on US Highway 412 when a vehicle driven by 68 year old Janice Orr, of Jonesboro, traveled into the path of another vehicle.

Orr was pronounced dead at the scene by Dunklin County Coroner James Towell.

A passenger in the second vehicle, 23 year old Harley Jones, of Steele, was transported to a Paragould hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the second vehicle was flown to a Memphis hospital with serious injuries.

NEW MADRID COUNTY CENTRAL ADVANCES TO STATE QUARTERFINALS

The New Madrid County Central march towards a state championship will continue this weekend.

The Eagles picked up a win last night over Charleston, 74-55 in the Class 3 Boys Basketball State Sectional.

With the win, NMCC now advances to the Class 3 State Quarterfinal against Kingston on Saturday.

The State Quarterfinal matchup will be broadcast on Shuffle 92.9 and online at Shuffle929.com.

Two Stoddard County schools will also be represented in the state quarterfinals as Richland will face Chadwick in Class 1 while Puxico matches up with South Pemiscot in Class 2.

POPLAR BLUFF TECHNICAL CAREER CENTER RECEIVES $27,000 AWARD FOR ROBOTIC ARM

The Poplar Bluff Technical Career Center is using grant money to help address the unmet skill training and hiring needs of the region.

According to School Officials, the TCC incorporated a six-axis robotic arm into its computer integrated manufacturing class with a $27,000 Delta Workforce grant awarded at the end of last school year.

The TCC received the robotic arm along with related curriculum and programming materials last month and set up the industrial workstation simulation over the ensuing weeks.

The collaborative grant agreement was initiated by school officials almost one year ago, with oversight provided by the Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission.

KENNETT MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG TRAFFICKING CHARGE

A Kennett man has been taken into custody on a drug charge.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 38 year old Ronald Johnson was arrested Monday night on charges of trafficking drugs first degree and speeding.

Following the arrest, Johnson was held in Pemiscot County according to the arrest report.

WEEKLONG PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT TO BEGIN TODAY ON US ROUTE 60

Eastbound U.S. Route 60 in Carter County will be reduced to one lane over the next week as contractor crews perform pavement repairs.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the work zone is located from Route 21 to Route V near Ellsinore.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Wednesday, March 6th.

CREWS TO BE WORKING ON WESTBOUND US 60 BEGINNING TODAY NEAR ELLSINORE

Westbound U.S. Route 60 in Carter County will be reduced to one lane beginning today so contractor crews can perform pavement repairs.

The section of roadway being reduced is located from Route V to Route PP near Ellsinore.

Weather permitting, work will take place today through Wednesday, March 6th from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
