DONALD TRUMP WINS MISSOURI REPUBLICAN CAUCUS

Donald Trump continued his path towards the Republican presidential nomination with a win in Missouri on Saturday.

Trump won the Missouri Republican Caucus easily, winning all 51 delegates in the state.

With the Idaho Caucus and Michigan Convention, Trump earned every delegate at stake on Saturday, bringing his count to 244 compared to 24 for former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.

A candidate needs to secure 1,215 delegates to clinch the Republican nomination.

NEW MADRID COUNTY CENTRAL ADVANCES TO STATE SEMIFINALS

Two Southeast Missouri basketball teams will be playing this week in the Missouri state boys final four.

In Class 3, the New Madrid County Central Eagles defeated Kingston 70-38 on Saturday to advance to the state semifinals.

They will face Thayer on Friday at 6 pm.

In Class 2 South Pemiscot beat Puxico on Saturday 50-48 in the State Quarterfinals. The Bulldogs will challenge Hartville at 2 pm on Wednesday.

$12,000 RAISED FOR UNITED GOSPEL RESCUE MISSION DURING CHILI COOK OFF

Over $10,000 was raised for the United Gospel Rescue Mission during the 18th annual Mason-Dixon Chili Society’s Chili Cook-Off.

The event was held on Saturday, February 24th at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff.

Greg Kirk with the Rescue Mission says that 19 teams raised $12,000 for the center.

Donations to help the rescue mission are still being accepted at 421 West Pine Street in Poplar Bluff. You can also donate online at www.PBRescue.org.

TWO ARRESTED ON KIDNAPPING CHARGES IN WAYNE COUNTY

Two people have been arrested in Wayne County on kidnapping charges.

Wayne County Sheriff Dean Finch tells KWOC News that arrest warrants were served on Friday at ABM Ministries in Piedmont.

57 year old Larry Musgraves Jr. and 64 year old Carmen Musgraves were taken into custody on charges of 1st degree kidnapping and held in the Wayne County Jail on no bond.

Finch says that his department started an investigation several months ago after several calls were made of runaways. The investigation is ongoing and Finch anticipates more charges will be made.

STODDARD COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED THIS WEEK FOR CULVERT REPLACEMENT

Route AC in Stoddard County will be closed for the early part of this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.

The section of roadway being closed is located in the area of County Road 227 near Bloomfield.

Weather permitting, work will take place both today and tomorrow, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.

SHOULDER WORK SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN WAYNE COUNTY

Route 49 in Wayne County will be reduced to one lane today as contractor crews perform roadside work.  

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the work zone is located in the County Road 440 area near Mill Spring.

Weather permitting, work will take place today from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and flaggers will be present in the area as work is underway.
