DATE ANNOUNCED FOR 9TH ANNUAL ST. JUDE VIP BANQUET
The date has been announced for the 9th Annual St. Jude VIP Banquet in Poplar Bluff.
The event, put on annually by Poplar Bluff Heroes, is scheduled for Friday, August 9th at the Black River Coliseum.
Officials say that doors will open at 5 pm for social hour, with dinner beginning at 6:30 pm.
In addition to dinner, there will also be Live and Silent Auctions, Games, Raffles, a St. Jude Guest Family, and more.
Tickets can be purchased for $50 each or $575 to reserve a table for 10 people.

STODDARD COUNTY LOTTERY PLAYER CELEBRATES ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLAR WIN
A six figure winning scratchers ticket was recently sold in Southeast Missouri.
According to the Missouri Lottery, a couple was scratching off a ticket they purchased at a Dexter convenience store when they thought they won $20,000.
They brought the ticket to the person at the counter to double-check only to find out they had won much more than that.
The clerk scanned the ticket and then asked the couple if they wanted a chair before revealing to them that they had in fact won $100,000.
In Fiscal Year 2023, players in Stoddard County won more than $6.3 million in Missouri Lottery prizes and more than $569,000 in Lottery proceeds went to education programs in the county.
BILLY YATES HEARTS FOR THE ARTS ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER SET FOR THIS WEEKEND
Billy Yates will be joined by multiple friends for a concert in Doniphan this Saturday.
The Billy Yates Hearts for the Arts Annual Scholarship Fundraiser has been scheduled for May 25th at the Doniphan High School Gym. Doors open at 5 pm, with the show beginning at 6 pm.
Yates will be joined by Buddy Jewell, Rafe Van Hoy, the winner of the Hearts for the Arts Talent Competition Haylee Epps, as well as Grayson and Nadia Yates.
Tickets are $10 for general admission.
DATES SET FOR 32ND ANNUAL CHILDREN’S THEATER DRAMA CAMP
The dates have been set for the 32nd Annual Children’s Theater Drama Camp at Three Rivers College.
The camp for students entering 2nd to 8th grade will begin on July 15th at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers College Poplar Bluff campus. There will be two separate one week camps this year.
The cost of the drama camp is $75, which includes a T-shirt, scripts, notebook, daily snack and drink.
Registration forms are available at trcc.edu and the deadline to register for both camps is July 8th.
ROADWORK SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK NEAR NEELYVILLE
Route 142 in Butler County will be reduced this week as contractor crews remove and replace islands at various intersections.
As work is underway, eastbound and westbound Route 142 will be reduced to one lane in each direction near the intersection of Route 142 and Route 67 near Neelyville.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Friday.
SEAL COAT OPERATIONS SET FOR EARLY THIS WEEK ON US HIGHWAY 60
Missouri Department of Transportation crews will be making driving surface improvements early this week on US Route 60 in Carter, Shannon, and Howell Counties.
MoDOT officials say that crews will be working from Route J to Route 17 near Winona.
Weather permitting, work will take place today through Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Flaggers and a pilot car will be in place to guide traffic.
