MULES GOLF TEAM INVITED TO PLAY IN NATIONAL TOURNAMENT
The Poplar Bluff Mules will be participating in a National Tournament this summer.
The Class 4 State Champion Mules Golf team has been invited to play in the 2024 High School Golf National Invitational.
The 54-hole event showcases 312 of the best High School golfers in the country.
Poplar Bluff Athletics Director Kent Keith tells KWOC News that the tournament will be held from July 1st through July 3rd at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort in Frisco, Texas.
OKLAHOMA MAN INVOLVED IN CARTER COUNTY WRECK
An Oklahoma man was the only person injured in a single vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 29 year old John Kinkaid, of Oklahoma City, was driving on US Highway 60 in Carter County when his vehicle ran off the roadway and overturned.
Kinkaid, who was not wearing a safety device, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital with serious injuries.
MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOLLOWING REPORTED SHOOTING
A man has been taken into custody following a reported shooting in Southeast Missouri.
According to a probable cause affidavit, shortly before 5 am on May 18th, Malden police officers responded to a location on Decatur Street in reference to a shots fired call.
The caller advised that 22 year old Coytravion Wade, of Malden, was shooting at her daughter. Officers were unable to locate Wade during a search of the area.
Wade was taken into custody on Tuesday on a felony Dunklin County warrant for assault 1st, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.
NORTHEAST ARKANSAS MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH
A Northeast Arkansas man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Tuesday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 55 year old Timmey Walls, of Paragould, was riding the motorcycle when the vehicle ran off the left side of a Perry County roadway and struck a ditch at around 9:30 pm.
Walls received serious injuries in the crash and was flown to an area hospital.
STODDARD COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED TODAY
Route AC in Stoddard County will be closed today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of roadway being closed is located from Route AC to County Road 237 near Bloomfield.
Weather permitting, work will take place both today and Thursday, May 30 from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.
CREWS TO BE WORKING ON ROUTE T IN PORTAGEVILLE AREA
Route T in New Madrid County will be reduced to one lane as contractor crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of roadway to be reduced is located from Route 61 to County Road 322 near Portageville.
Weather permitting, work will take place today through Friday, June 7th, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
