ONE DEAD FOLLOWING CROP DUSTER CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY

A pilot is dead following a plane crash Friday in Butler County.

A crop duster crashed Friday morning in the Broseley area near County Roads 648 and 653, north of Route CC.

Butler County Coroner Jim Akers tells KWOC news that the pilot, 28 year old Ryan McCallister, of Broseley, has died and an autopsy is scheduled for this morning in Farmington.

Akers added that he has been in contact with the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Butler County Coroner’s Office, and Butler County EMS all responded to the scene.

SUPPLY LISTS RELEASED FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR AT POPLAR BLUFF SCHOOLS

Summer may be just getting underway, however parents in Poplar Bluff can already get started preparing for the upcoming school year.

Poplar Bluff school officials are giving those parents a hand by releasing the 2024/25 School Supply Lists.

The lists have been posted by building, from the early childhood center all the way to High School.

RANDOLPH AND GREENE COUNTIES ADDED TO ARKANSAS DISASTER DECLARATION

Two Northeast Arkansas Counties have been added to the state’s major disaster declaration.

According to FEMA Region 6, Randolph and Greene Counties have been added to the eight involved in the disaster declaration for Arkansans who sustained damage from the May 24 through May 27 severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding.

Officials say that residents in those counties may be eligible for disaster assistance under FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program. Eligible applicants may qualify for rental assistance, basic home repairs, personal property losses and other eligible expenses related to storm damage.

There are four ways to apply, DisasterAssistance.gov, the FEMA App, by calling 1-800-621-3362, or by visiting a Disaster Recovery Center.

EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS EVENT SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN QULIN

Qulin will be the location for an Earthquake Disaster Preparedness event today.

The event, sponsored by Missouri Highlands Healthcare, has been scheduled for 9 am to 11 am at the Qulin Senior Citizens Center, which is located at 235 2nd Street.

The program will be free and open to the public, and will also be followed by a complimentary lunch.

GUARDRAIL REPAIRS UNDERWAY ON US ROUTE 60 IN THE ESSEX AREA

Westbound U.S. Route 60 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction through the middle of next week so contractor crews can perform guardrail repairs.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the work zone will be located at Route FF near Essex.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Tuesday, June 25.

REPAIRS TO CAUSE DELAYS ON SOUTHBOUND US 67

Southbound U.S. Route 67 in Madison County will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction for over a week as contractor crews perform guardrail repairs.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the section of roadway being reduced is located at County Road 412 near Zion.

Weather permitting, work will take place today through Tuesday, June 25th from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
