RECTOR MAN IN CUSTODY ON MULTIPLE COUNTS OF RAPE
A Rector man has been taken into custody on multiple charges, including rape.
According to court documents, on June 13th, officers conducted an interview with an underage victim who had run away from home. The victim disclosed sexual mistreatment by an adult that had happened over multiple years.
A warrant was issued for 31 year old Joseph Gore, on charges of rape, sexual indecency with a child, endangering the welfare of a minor, aggravated assault, and terroristic threatening.
Gore was arrested last week and is being held in the Clay County Detention Center on a $100,000, cash only bond.
POPLAR BLUFF HISTORIC TRAIN DEPOT 4TH ANNUAL DINNER AUCTION SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 20TH
A date has been announced for the 4th annual Poplar Bluff Historic Train Depot Dinner Auction.
The event will be held on Friday, September 20th at the train depot on South Main Street.
The auction and social hour will begin at 6:30 pm, followed by dinner at 7 pm. Tickets are available for $45 at EventBrite.com.
All proceeds raised will be put back into the restoration efforts of the Historical Train Depot.
PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED FOR THIS MONTH TO DISCUSS ELLSINORE GRANT APPLICATION
A meeting will be held later this month to discuss a submission for grant money for the city of Ellsinore.
City officials will hold a public hearing at 5:15 p.m. on July 22nd at the Ellsinore City Hall to discuss the city’s submission of an application for a Community Development Block Grant.
The city is proposing to provide an asphalt overlay of sections of 12 city streets and drainage upgrades for the estimated total cap amount of $500,000.

PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT UNDERWAY IN STODDARD COUNTY
Route M in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction for most of this month as construction crews perform pavement repairs and striping.
The work zone is located from Route K to Route 25 near Aquilla.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Friday, July 28.
GUARDRAIL REPAIRS TO CAUSE DELAYS ON ROUTE 34 IN WAYNE COUNTY
Eastbound Route 34 in Wayne County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction through the middle of next week as contractor crews perform guardrail repairs.
According to MoDOT, the section of roadway being reduced is located at Route 143 near Patterson.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Wednesday, July 24.
