BUTLER COUNTY FAIR BEGINS THURSDAY IN POPLAR BLUFF

The Butler County Fair is kicking off this week in Poplar Bluff.

The three day fair is set for Thursday through Saturday at the Black River Coliseum and Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park.

Multiple events are scheduled for the fair this year, including the Beauty Pageant and the Tractor and Truck Pull.

The Black River Coliseum will be hosting the fair exhibits and silent auction over all three days.

ONE INJURED IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI MOTORCYCLE CRASH

One person was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital Friday afternoon in connection to a motorcycle crash.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 20 year old Tatonka Ford, of Ellsinore, was riding a motorcycle when another vehicle merged onto the highway and forced Ford to run off the roadway.

The motorcycle then overturned.

Officials say that Ford received serious injuries in the crash, which occurred on US Highway 60 in Carter County.

87 YEAR OLD MAN DEAD FOLLOWING CRASH NEAR PATTON

A Marble Hill man has died from injuries he received in a crash Friday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Route OO, seven miles south of Patton, when a vehicle failed to yield and struck the back of an ATV.

The driver of the ATV, 87 year old Jacob Dunn, was transported to a Cape Girardeau hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

MDC OFFERING REPORTS ON COLORS OF FALL FOLIAGE

Fall has started and the Missouri Department of Conservation is encouraging people to enjoy fall foliage through camping, driving tours, hiking, or even floating.

The autumn equinox began at 7:44 am on Sunday, ushering in the official beginning of the fall season.

To help Missourians get the best view of fall, the MDC is offering weekly online fall color updates from agency foresters all over the state at mdc.mo.gov/fallcolor.

The weekly reports include what kinds of trees are turning and suggestions on the best places to view them. The updates will run through November.

BRIDGE REPAIRS SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY

Route 114 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction today as construction crews perform bridge maintenance.

The section of roadway being reduced is located near County Road 781 in Grayridge.

Weather permitting, work will take place today through 6 p.m.

ROAD CREWS TO BE WORKING TODAY IN THE MALDEN AREA

Route AB in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.

The work zone is located from Laclede Street to the end of state maintenance in the Malden area.

Weather permitting, work will take place today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
