PIEDMONT MAN CHARGED WITH THREE COUNTS OF POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

A Piedmont man has been charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that in February, a Special Victims Unit investigator identified a device, associated with the internet account of 22 year old Tanner Stevens, which had uploaded child pornography.

Investigators contacted Stevens at his residence where a video depicting child pornography was located on an electronic device.

The Wayne County Prosecuting Attorney has formally charged Stevens with three counts of Possession of Child Pornography. He is being held in the Wayne County Jail on no bond.

POPLAR BLUFF REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER COLLECTING JARS OF PEANUT BUTTER TO SUPPORT SEMO FOOD BANK

An area hospital is collecting jars of peanut butter to help feed local residents.

The Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center’s Jars of Love Peanut Butter Drive will run this year through Friday, March 24th, with all donations directly benefiting the SEMO Food Bank.

Last year, PBRMC donated 8,200 jars of peanut butter and this year they are aiming to collect at least 9,000 jars.

CITY OF QULIN JOINS WITH OZARK FOOTHILLS REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION TO CREATE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN

The City of Qulin is taking steps to make the area more adaptable for physical activity.

The City of Qulin has partnered with Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to create an Active Transportation Plan.

Officials say that the plan is free and could help with the creation of more public parks, trails, sidewalk improvements, crosswalks, stoplights and bike lanes within the city limits.

In the coming weeks and months, Qulin citizens will have an opportunity to provide feedback for the project through online surveys, community meetings and events.

AREA LAW ENFORCEMENT TO HOST DRUG TAKE BACK EVENT

Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas residents will have a chance to safely dispose of their unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs later this month.

Multiple area law enforcement agencies will be participating in National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 26th from 10 am to 2 pm.

CULVERT REPLACEMENT TO CAUSE CLOSURE OF DUNKLIN COUNTY ROAD TODAY

Route 164 in Dunklin County will be closed today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.

The work zone is located between Route N and Route YY in Hornersville.

Weather permitting, work will take place today through 3 p.m.
