ONE TEEN DEAD FOLLOWING WRECK IN REYNOLDS COUNTY
An Ellington teen is dead following a wreck Saturday afternoon in Reynolds County.
Sergeant Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News the wreck occurred when a vehicle driven by 17 year old James Baker, of Ellington, ran off the roadway and overturned.
According to Sergeant Clark Parrott, Baker was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene by Reynolds County Coroner Jeffrey McSpadden.
ROLLA WOMAN FACES DRUG CHARGES IN WAYNE COUNTY
A Rolla woman is facing drug charges in connection to her arrest over the weekend.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 33 year old Kimberly Avery was arrested Saturday afternoon in Wayne County on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
Avery is also facing charges of felony possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic violations including no valid insurance and no seat belt. Avery was transported to the Reynolds County Sheriff’s Department and later released.
FREEDOM IN FAITH 5K RUN SCHEDULED FOR NOVEMBER 7TH
The Westside Church of God in Poplar Bluff along with John 3:16 Ministries will be hosting the Freedom in Faith 5K Run on November 7th.
The event will begin at 9 am for both male and female runners. Those who finish the race will receive a gift basket with an assortment of prizes.

CORNING HARVEST FESTIVAL SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH
The Corning Harvest Festival has been scheduled for Saturday, October 24th.
This year’s festival will begin at 9:30 am at Wynn Park in Corning.
There will agri business exhibits, local food concessions, arts and crafts, children’s games, a 5k run, a car show and more. In addition there will also be free live entertainment performing all day.
MARBLE HILL WOMAN FACING DRUG CHARGES OUT OF WAYNE COUNTY
A Marble Hill woman was taken into custody late Friday night on drug charges.
According to Sheriff Dean Finch with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, 49 year old Tina Hypes is facing felony charges of possession of a controlled substance for methamphetamine and hydrocodone. Hypes, is also charged with felony unlawful use of drug paraphernalia– methamphetamine.
Hypes, was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department where she was booked and lodged.
THIRD BAPTIST CHURCH TO HOST FALL FESTIVAL ON OCTOBER 24TH
Third Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff will be hosting a Fall Festival later this month.
Pastor James Capps tells KWOC News that everyone is welcome to attend the festival that will be held on Saturday, October 24th beginning at 4 pm.
There will be hot dogs and chili available as well at the church on North D Street in Poplar Bluff.
ELKS RIDERS ASSOCIATION TO HOST 2ND ANNUAL HALLOWEEN PARTY TO RAISE PROCEEDS FOR SHOP WITH A HERO
The Elks Riders Association is hosting their 2nd Annual Halloween Party on October 24th.
The party will be held at the Poplar Bluff Elks Lodge from 8 pm to 12 am and all proceeds will go to shop with a hero. Officials say the cost to get in will be $25 a couple or $12.50 for a single person.
RIPLEY COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED TONIGHT FOR A PIPE REPLACEMENT
Route 21 in Ripley County will be closed tonight so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can replace a pipe under the roadway.
The work zone will be located between Bridge Street and Briar Creek Bridge.
The road is scheduled to be closed at 10 pm tonight and will re-open tomorrow morning at 6 am.
