POLICE ON LOOKOUT FOR CYCLISTS IN POPLAR BLUFF 

Poplar Bluff officials are on the lookout for two cyclists. 

They are suspected of stealing a license plate, with video available at the Poplar Bluff Police Department’s Facebook page.

THREE RIVERS COLLEGE HOSTING FAFSA FRENZY TODAY 

Three Rivers College is hosting the FAFSA Frenzy event today. 

The event is held for students and their families to receive free help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This will help in applying for federal and state financial aid, as well as some scholarships. 

The FAFSA Frenzy will be held from 2 to 6 pm at the campus’ Westover Administration Building, rooms 302 and 304, and is open to everyone, whether or not you plan to attend Three Rivers.

LOCAL CHARITY HOSTING A DAY FOR BUILDING BEDS FOR CHILDREN WITHOUT THEM 

A Poplar Bluff charity is hosting a day this weekend for building beds for children who don’t have one. 

The Build Day event’s goal is to build 30 beds, which were requested by various locations. 

The event will be held on Saturday in the parking lot of the Poplar Bluff R-1 Schools Central Office, at 1110 North Westwood Boulevard.

MAN FLOWN TO CAPE GIRARDEAU HOSPITAL FOLLOWING DUNKLIN COUNTY WRECK 

A Missouri man was injured Tuesday morning in a wreck in Dunklin County.  

According to authorities, a vehicle was travelling on Levee Road, about 4 miles north of Hornersville, when it slid off the levee and overturned.  

83 year old Rondal Scott, of Senath, received moderate injuries in the wreck and was flown to a Cape Girardeau hospital.

PUBLIC HEARING IN WAYNE COUNTY SCHEDULED FOR NEXT WEEK  

Wayne County will be holding a public hearing next week. 

The hearing will discuss the County’s submission of an application for the Fiscal Year 2019 Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery program. 

All County citizens are encouraged to give their input as to the needs of the county. 

The hearing will also discuss the county’s proposition on a combined effort with Butler County for a hydrologic analysis of the Black River in a two-phase study, which will determine what can be done to mitigate flood risks. 

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd, at the Wayne County Commission Chambers at the Wayne County Courthouse.

DOG ADOPTION EVENT SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND 

There will be a dog adoption event in Poplar Bluff this weekend. 

The Cricket Wireless Meet n’ Greet will have dogs, pups, baked goods, and more. 

The event will be held from noon to 4 pm at 1880 North Westwood Boulevard.
