ENDANGERED PERSON ADVISORY - GIRL MISSING SINCE LAST WEEK BELIEVED TO BE IN POPLAR BLUFF 

A girl that has been missing since last Friday is believed to be in the Poplar Bluff area. 

Howell County officials tell KWOC News that 15 year old Destiney Layman, from Mountain View, has been reported being near or heading to Poplar Bluff. 

Layman is a white, 5’9 girl with blonde hair and hazel eyes, with scars on her chin and nose, wounds on her right knee and elbow, and braces. She is believed to be with, or attempting to find, her biological father. 

It is noted that she may dye her hair or alter her appearance to avoid being found. 

Anyone with information on her, or her whereabouts, should immediately dial 911, or contact the Howell County Sheriff’s Office at 417-256-2544.

TWO LOCAL RESIDENTS ARRESTED ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES 

Two Poplar Bluff residents were taken into custody in Butler County Thursday on drug related charges.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 38 year old Aaron Sheehan, and 29 year old Trina Beatty, of Poplar Bluff, have been arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance. 

Beatty’s charge is on possession of methamphetamine, Sheehan’s substance is not specified. 

They were both transported to the Butler County Jail following their arrests.

MINNIE SMITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL HOLDING REUNION TOMORROW 

The Poplar Bluff J. Minnie Smith Elementary School will be holding their biennial reunion tomorrow. 

Former students, teachers, parents, and anyone with East Side roots are invited to attend. Barbecue and beverages will be provided, and those attending are asked to bring a side dish. 

The reunion will be held from 11 am to 2 pm, at Bible Baptist Church, 549 South C Street.

MARBLE HILL MUSEUM HOSTING INTERNATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGY DAY THIS WEEKEND 

A museum in marble hill will be hosting an event for International Archaeology Day tomorrow.

The Bollinger County Museum of Natural History in Marble Hill will feature a display of Native American tools, archaeology dig, puzzles, games, and crafts.

 All activities are free with the paid museum admission. 

The event will be held from noon to 4:30 pm, and is located at 209 Mayfield Drive.

JOHN J. PERSHING MEDICAL CENTER HOSTING ANNUAL 2K WALK TODAY 

The local VA Medical Center is holding a 2k walk today. 

The annual Go Pink and Purple 2K walk is being hosted by the John J. Pershing Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. 

The event is held for breast cancer and domestic violence awareness, as well as recognizing families who have lost children to miscarriages. 

Participants are encouraged to wear pink or purple during the event. 

The walk is being held at the medical center’s walking track near Westwood Blvd, from noon to 2 pm.

OZARD NATIONAL AND MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION HOSTING PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN TOMORROW 

The Ozark National Scenic Riverways and Missouri Department of Conservation are hosting an instructional gigging program for children on the gravel bar at Round Spring on Saturday. 

There will also be traditional storytelling for all ages. 

The program is free and all are welcome to attend, but reservations are required for gigging.
