MULTIPLE COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENTS CURRENTLY SEARCHING FOR BANK ROBBER
Multiple agencies are searching for a man who robbed a Stoddard County bank on Monday.
Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner tells KWOC News that the suspect entered the Southern Bank of Essex, and took an unknown amount of cash from the teller, then left in an older model, four door sedan.
Witnesses report that the suspect is a black male, around 6ft. tall, with a grey beard and goatee.
The Stoddard County Sheriff Office and Major Case Squad, Dexter Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and FBI are currently investigating the suspect’s whereabouts. He is considered armed and dangerous.

CAMPBELL MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK
A Campbell man suffered serious injuries Monday morning in a single vehicle wreck.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 74 year old Larry Robbins was driving on Highway H, when his vehicle ran off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole.
Robbins was seriously injured in the wreck and transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital.
LOCAL VA MEDICAL CENTER HOSTING TRAINING FOR CAREGIVERS
The John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff will be hosting a training event for caregivers of veterans with physical impairments.
The training class will be held on Tuesday, October 29th, from 10 am to 2:30 pm in Cape Girardeau, at the VFW located at 1049 North Kings highway. Lunch will be included.
Registration for the event ends on Monday, October 28th.

POPLAR BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL SECURITY SUPERVISOR PASSES AWAY
The Poplar Bluff High School Security Supervisor has died.
According to the Poplar Bluff School District, Wesley Lewis passed away on Saturday.
Lewis was employed by the Poplar Bluff School District from 1991 to 2019 including serving as a bus driver, in addition to the previously mentioned roles.
Lewis enjoyed the outdoors with many activities such as camping, fishing, hiking, and canoeing.
Poplar Bluff Athletic Director Kent Keith tells KWOC there are plans to honor Lewis before the kickoff of the Mules home football game this Friday night against Hillsboro.
POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT TO HOST DRUG TAKE BACK EVENT
Poplar Bluff residents will have a chance to safely dispose of their unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs this weekend.
The Poplar Bluff Police Department will be holding a Drug Take Back event on Saturday, October 22nd from 10 am to 2 pm at the Walmart on 333 South Westwood Boulevard.
The service is free and anonymous, with no questions asked. Officials say that the DEA cannot accept hypodermic needles or aerosol inhalers.

SENIOR FAIR/FALL FEST SCHEDULED FOR TODAY
There will be a Fall Fest at the Poplar Bluff Westwood Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center today.
