BURGLARY INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARREST IN STODDARD COUNTY
Updating a story we brought you last week, an investigation into the burglary of a convenience store in Puxico has led to an arrest.
According to the Puxico Police Department, the investigation, led by Puxico police, the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, and Missouri State Highway Patrol, led to the arrest of Alexis Mallery, of Annapolis. He has been charged with burglary – 2nd degree, and property damage – 1st degree.
He was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest.
ARREST IN STODDARD COUNTY INVOLVING DRUG RELATED CHARGES
There was an arrest in Stoddard County yesterday involving drug related charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 49 year old Judy Mixon, of Bradley, Illinois, was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated – drugs, and possession of marijuana.
She was also arrested on unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Mixon was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following her arrest.
FIRE IN POCAHONTAS COMPLETELY ENGULFS AND DESTROYS HOME
A fire in Pocahontas has left a home destroyed.
The Pocahontas Fire Department reports that by the time officials arrived at the scene, the house was completely engulfed in flame, and the roof was beginning to cave in.
The sole resident of the house was at work when the fire started, the chief of the department suggesting that the fire began from an electric fault, though it is currently under investigation.
FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING
The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Watch for all of Southeast Missouri.
According to the NWS, hard freezes are expected both tomorrow and Friday night with temperatures falling to the mid 20’s.
These temperatures can cause damage to plants or fruit trees that are blooming ahead of schedule. Anyone with these types of plants are advised to take necessary precautions.
The freeze watch is in effect through 10 am Friday morning.
MULTIPLE SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION FAILURES IN NEW MADRID COUNTY
There were multiple reports of sex offenders failing to register in New Madrid County yesterday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 58 year old Leo Parker, of Howardville, 55 year old Larry Daniels, 49 year old John Bennett, and 37 year old Thomas Wrathey, of New Madrid, were all charged with felony failure to register as a sex offender.
They were all transported to the New Madrid County Jail, and are being held with bond.
BLOOMFIELD MAN ARRESTED ON POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
A Bloomfield man was taken into custody yesterday on drug related charges.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 44 year old Lynn Lang, of Bloomfield, was booked on possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less or marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid.
Her bond is $7,500 cash only, and remained in custody following her arrest.
