BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT SEIZES $30K WORTH OF CRYSTAL METH
Two Poplar Bluff men have been arrested in Butler County after officials found over $30k worth of crystal meth in their home on Wednesday.
Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs tells KWOC news that 18 year old Martajan Williams, of Hayti, and 26 year old Byron Norris, of Poplar Bluff, were taken into custody after a search of Norris’ residence revealed around 3 pounds of “ice” methamphetamine.
Marijuana, a .22 caliber handgun, and other items for distribution purposes, were also found.
Williams faces charges on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and Norris was taken into custody for being wanted on a Bureau of alcohol, tobacco, firearms & explosives warrant for dangerous drugs.
Both men were taken to the Butler County Jail following their arrests.

YOUTH FIREARM DEER SEASON BEGINS THIS WEEKEND
Young hunters across Southeast Missouri are getting ready for this weekend and the beginning of youth firearm deer season.
According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, to participate you must be at least 6 and no older than 15 years of age. Youth firearms deer season will run from November 2nd to November 3rd.
The late youth portion of firearms deer season has been scheduled for November 29th through December 1st. You can find more information online at mdc.mo.gov.
POPLAR BLUFF LION’S CLUB CHILI DAY TO BE HELD NEXT TUESDAY
The Poplar Bluff Lion’s Club will be hosting their annual Chili Day on Tuesday November 5th.
The event will be held from 11 am to 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff.

100 percent of the proceeds from the event will go to support the Lion’s Club vision program for needy children and adults.
EAST CARTER SOFTBALL TEAM TO PLAY IN STATE SEMIFINAL TODAY
The East Carter girls’ softball team will be playing for a chance at a state championship this afternoon.
The Lady Redbirds will be taking on the Sherwood Lady Marksmen in the Class 2 State Semifinal at 1 pm today in Springfield.
If the Lady Redbirds win today they will then play in the State Final at 2 pm on Saturday against the winner of the Palmyra vs. Marceline semifinal.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRY INTO THE RIVER RADIO LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE
The 2019 River Radio Lighted Christmas Parade is a little over a month away.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm on Friday, December 6th with line up beginning at 5:45. Entry forms are available at River Radio as well as on our Facebook page and website and are being accepted through November 20th.
The parade route this year will run from Highway 142 at McDonalds through downtown Poplar Bluff before looping back and ending at the Black River Coliseum.

POPLAR BLUFF PETCO HOSTING MEET N’ GREET
The Poplar Bluff Petco will be hosting a Meet n Greet event this weekend.
There will be dogs and puppies available for adoption throughout the event’s duration.
The Petco is located on 757 North Westwood Boulevard, and the event will be from 10 am to 2 pm.
