INCOMING STORM SYSTEM BRINGS WITH IT CHANCE OF HEAVY RAINFALL 

An incoming storm system is bringing with it the chance of heavy rainfall.  

According to a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued by the National Weather Service, thunderstorms are possible with increasing rain chances today and tonight. 

Heavy rainfall will be the primary storm related hazard through the period. Weather officials say up to 2 inches of rain is likely with this storm system, along with isolated flooding being a concern. 

The chances of heavy rain are also expected to continue into Friday.

MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION 

A man was arrested in Stoddard County on Wednesday on drug possession. 

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 39 year old Brandon Hoskins, of Greenville, was booked on possession of a controlled substance – except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. 

He was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest, on a $12,000 cash only bond.

ANNUAL AMBULANCE HOLIDAY PROGRAM STARTS THIS MONTH IN STODDARD COUNTY 

The Stoddard County annual ambulance holiday program will begin next week. 

The event is held for patients who cannot walk and wants to go home to their families for the holiday season, where ambulances will drive them to their family’s homes. 

This service is free for anyone who wishes to use it, and will begin on Thursday. Anyone interested is asked to contact the activity director of your family member’s nursing home.

VEHICLE FATALITIES REPORTED IN GREENE COUNTY  

Two fatalities were reported in Greene County following multiple vehicle crashes. 

Greene County Sheriff Steve Franks tells KWOC News that the crash occurred when a pickup truck rear ended a tractor, causing two school-buses behind them to rear end each other in the collision. 

The driver of the pickup truck – a 19 year old male – and a student on one of the buses died in the wreck.

MDC ON THE LOOKOUT FOR POACHING SUSPECT IN CARTER COUNTY 

The Missouri Department of Conservation is currently searching for poachers in Carter County. 

According to the MDC, a dead elk was discovered in Carter County on Monday, with no meat or parts taken from the body, with the poacher unidentified. 

The Department asks that anyone who has information on the poaching incident call the operation game thief at 1-800-392-1111, or the Missouri Department of Conservation Ozark Regional Office at 417-256-7161.

LOCAL COMMUNITY CENTER HOSTING WINTER FAIR 

A local community center will be hosting a winter fair next week. 

The Northside Community Center will be holding the event on Saturday, November 30th, from 9 am to 3 pm, and will feature vendors, food, and purchasable goods. 

The Community Center is located at 1450 Garfield Street, Poplar Bluff, and all funds earned from the event will be going to benefit the Community Center.
