MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN CONNECTION TO 2006 COLD CASE
A man was taken into custody in New Madrid in relation to a 2006 missing person case.
According to officials with the New Madrid Police Department, 42 year old Melvin Hufford, of Tallapoosa, was arrested on first-degree manslaughter and tampering with evidence after being accused of injecting Teresa Butler, a missing person since 2006, with methamphetamine on the night of her death.
He is accused of wrapping and moving her body underneath the sink of an abandoned home, where it remained for a few years before being found in a ditch.
Hufford awaits trial on other charges in the Pemiscot County Jail.
MODERATE INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY
Moderate injuries were reported following a vehicle crash in Butler County on Thursday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells (Station name) News that the crash occurred on Route FF, 3 miles south of Fisk, where a vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn.
The driver of the vehicle, a Poplar Bluff resident, received moderate injuries from the crash, and was transported by ambulance to a Poplar Bluff hospital following the accident.
BRIDGE REPAIRS SCHEDULED FOR FRISCO RAILROAD REPLACEMENT
The Frisco Railroad on Main and Broadway in Poplar Bluff is scheduled for repairs.
According to the Poplar Bluff Street Department, the railroad is in disarray, with structural insecurities shown through the entirety of the passage, including splintered timber and faulty metal.
There is no set schedule for the repairs, and will continue through two stages including structure repair and settling.
KENNETT MAN ARRESTED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY ON METHAMPHETAMINE CHARGES
A Kennett man was taken into custody in Dunklin County on Thursday on possession of methamphetamine.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 25 year old Jacob Carmack, of Kennett, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Dunklin County Jail following his arrest.
DUNKLIN COUNTY MAN ARRESTED IN MALDEN ON DRUG WARRANT
A Dunklin County man was taken into custody in Malden on a drug warrant.
According to the Dunklin County Police Department, 34 year old Marcrease Farmer, of Malden, on a Dunklin County felony warrant on delivery of a controlled substance.
His bond is set at $50k cash only, and he was transported to the Dunklin County Justice Center following his arrest.
DRIVER EXAM STATIONS CLOSING FOR THANKSGIVING
Driver examination stations across Missouri will be closing for Thanksgiving.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, driver exam stations across Missouri will be closed on Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.
The stations will re-open on Monday, December 2nd.
