DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR ENTRY INTO THE RIVER RADIO LIGHTED CHRISTMAS PARADE 

The deadline is coming up to get your entry in for the 2019 River Radio Lighted Christmas Parade.  

The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm on Friday, December 6th. Entry forms are available at River Radio as well as on our Facebook page and website. The deadline to submit your float entry is December 4th. 

The parade route this year will run from Highway 142 at McDonalds through downtown Poplar Bluff before looping back and ending at the Black River Coliseum.  

Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. For more information, call 785-0881.

$20K REWARD BEING OFFERED FOR INFORMATION ON ELK POACHING 

A reward of $20k is being offered for information on the case of an elk poaching in Carter County. 

Missouri’s Operation Game Thief is offering the reward in relation to a poaching incident on November 18th, when the body of an elk was found shot dead, with no parts or meat being taken from the body. 

If you have information that could lead to the identity of the poacher, contact the operation game thief at 1-800-392-1111, or contact the Ozark Regional Office at 417-256-7161.

GREENE COUNTY CHURCH HOSTING SAFETY TASK FORCE MEETING 

A church in Greene County Arkansas, will be hosting a safety task force meeting next week. 

The event will reflect the task force meetings that have been held for several schools in the area, and will focus on the needs and concerns of the churches. 

It will be held on December 14th, at Center Hill Church of Christ, with more information available at the Greene County Office of Emergency Management Facebook page.

CITY OF DONIPHAN HOLDING CENSUS APPLICANT SESSION NEXT WEEK 

The city of Doniphan will be holding a census applicant session next week. 

Those who are interested in working with the 2020 Census are asked to attend the meeting on December 10th, where it will be held in the Doniphan Fire Department. 

The event will run from 10 am to 2 pm, and the department is located on 124 West Jefferson Street.

LOCAL CHURCH HOSTING CHRISTMAS EVENT THIS MONTH 

A Poplar Bluff church will be hosting a Christmas play this month. 

The Palace of Praise Church will be holding their Sounds of Christmas play from December 15th to the 18th, and gifts will also be given away on the 15th. 

Admission is free, but you can also purchase a dinner theater ticket for a meal, and reserved seating is also available. For more information on how to sign up your children for gifts or about the play, contact the church at 573-785-4232.

16TH ANNUAL SANTA LAND EVENT TO BE HELD TODAY IN POPLAR BLUFF  

The 16th Annual Santa Land event has been scheduled for today in Poplar Bluff.  

According to the Poplar Bluff Park Department, the event will be held from 6 to 8 pm tonight at the Black River Coliseum. Individuals with special needs may enter at 5 pm.  

During the event, children will get to visit with Santa and participate in many fun holiday activities.
