FORMER ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN 2015 ASSAULT CASE 

Updating a story we brought to you recently, a former assistant Naylor principal was sentenced to 15 years in a previous assault case. 

Presiding Circuit Judge Michael Pritchett oversaw the sentencing of 56 year old John Mullins, after he had pled guilty to sexually assaulting a student in 2015. 

He was charged on felony first degree statutory sodomy, with an additional charge of first-degree rape and two felony sexual contact charges being dismissed at his sentencing.

MODERATE INJURIES REPORTED AFTER VEHICLE CRASH IN STODDARD COUNTY  

Moderate injuries were reported after a vehicle crash in Stoddard County on Tuesday. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the crash occurred on Highway 25, near north of Missouri 91, where a vehicle drove into the path of another vehicle, side swiping it. 

One of the drivers received moderate injuries, and was transported by ambulance to a Cape Girardeau hospital.

DEADLINE FOR ENTERING FISK PARADE COMING THIS MONTH 

The deadline for entering the Fisk Lighted Christmas Parade is coming in the next few weeks. 

The parade is an event that hosts a fundraiser to provide for area children, with anyone being allowed to enter and make their own float.

MAN ARRESTED IN WAYNE COUNTY FOLLOWING VEHICLE THEFT 

A man was taken into custody in Wayne County following a vehicle theft. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 36 year old Brandon Luke, of Piedmont, was arrested on felony possession of a stolen vehicle, as well as operating a motor vehicle with no valid license. 

He was transported to the Wayne County Jail following his arrest.

INJURIES RECEIVED FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN DUNKLIN COUNTY 

Injuries were reported following a vehicle collision in Dunklin County on Tuesday. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on US 412, near Cardwell, where a vehicle failed to yield to another vehicle, striking it on the drivers’ side. The vehicle then travelled off the west side of the roadway, and struck a traffic sign. 

A driver in one of the vehicles received moderate injuries as a result of the collision, and was transported by ambulance to a Paragould hospital.

VETERAN REFUNDED FOLLOWING ATTEMPTED SCAM BY LIFT COMPANY 

An elderly veteran was given a refund after a chair lift company attempted to scam him. 

Attorney General Eric Schmitt tells KWOC News that the disabled veteran spent around $2,000 for a chair lift to be installed in his home, where the company both refused to install the lift, as well as denied him a refund from his wasted purchase.
