WOMAN AIR LIFTED TO ST. LOUIS FOLLOWING SHOOTING IN POPLAR BLUFF, DAUGHTER IN CUSTODY
A woman has been arrested following a shooting in Poplar Bluff.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, Ashley N. Warren allegedly shot her mother with a pistol on Monday in the 300 block of Davis Street.
A search was conducted for Warren and officials say she was taken into custody later on Monday.
Warren’s mother, 47 year old Michelle Kilgore, was flown to a St. Louis hospital.
WOMAN ARRESTED ON DRUG AND PARAPHERANLIA CHARGES IN BUTLER COUNTY
A Qulin woman has been taken into custody on a felony drug charge.
According to authorities, 41 year old Amanda McCrory was arrested Monday afternoon in Butler County on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
McCrory is also facing charges of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and driving while suspended.
Following the arrest, she was transported to the Butler County Jail.
AREA FIRST RESPONDERS TO AID IN HURRICANE DORIAN RESPONSE EFFORTS
Five area first responders have left Missouri to aid in Hurricane response efforts.
According to the Stoddard County Ambulance District, five men from the SCAD Strike Team have been deployed to assist with help efforts resulting from Hurricane Dorian.
The currently Category 3 storm has claimed at least five lives in the Bahamas and is expected to threaten from Florida up to Virginia this week.
Officials say the strike team travelled all day on Monday to reach their first assignment station.
POPLAR BLUFF MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES
Authorities in Butler County have arrested an area man on multiple felony charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 41 year old Shawn Lee, of Poplar Bluff, was taken into custody Sunday morning on felony charges of leaving the scene of an accident and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
Lee is also facing a charge of driving while intoxicated.
MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY WRECK
A Missouri man was injured Sunday evening in a Dunklin County wreck.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by 79 year old J. E. Crews, of Gobler, pulled into the path of another vehicle on Dunklin County Road 643.
Crews suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was flown to a Jonesboro hospital. The driver of the second vehicle received minor injuries and was transported to a Paragould hospital.
POPLAR BLUFF STUDENT’S ART WORK ON DISPLAY AT LAMBEAU FIELD
A local student’s art is on display at one of the most famous stadiums in the United States.
Poplar Bluff High School Senior Kaylee-Ann Merrick has been named the secondary grade level winner in the Green Bay Packers Student Art Contest.
Merrick and her family were flown to Lambeau Field in Wisconsin for an unveiling of her artwork during which she got to meet Packers CEO Mark Murphy and tour the stadium.
As a result of the contest, Merrick’s art will be displayed for a year at the Packers stadium and the PBHS Art Department has been awarded $5,000.
