MAN ARRESTED IN RELATION TO INVESTIGATION OF DEATH IN STODDARD COUNTY
A man has been arrested in an investigation into a death reported in Advance.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, Advance resident Robert Harwood was found deceased inside his home on Tuesday, with an autopsy being scheduled for today at 9:30 am to determine his cause of death.
A suspect has been taken into custody on suspected homicide, and more information will be available as the investigation continues.
LOCAL MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON MULTIPLE CHARGES
A Poplar Bluff man was taken into custody on Tuesday on multiple warrant charges.
According to officials with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, 19 year old Cody Marks, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested on a felony Butler County warrant on unlawful use of a weapon, and one felony warrant out of Dunklin County for resisting arrest.
He was also charged with a misdemeanor on possession of marijuana.
Marks was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest.
STATE PROPERTY DAMAGE AND INJURIES CAUSED BY VEHICLE CRASH OUT OF NEW MADRID
A vehicle collision in New Madrid on Tuesday has caused injuries and state property damage.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the crash occurred on Route W near Kewanee, where a vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, hitting and damaging the railing of a bridge.
The driver of the vehicle received moderate injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported to a hospital in Cape Girardeau.
WOMAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE
A woman was taken into custody in Butler County on possession of methamphetamine.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, 44 year old Samantha Harrison, of Sikeston, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was transported to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office following her arrest.
INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN STODDARD COUNTY
Injuries have been reported following a vehicle crash in Stoddard County on Tuesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Route Y, near Salcedo, where a vehicle crossed the center line of the road and struck a towed unit with another vehicle.
The driver of the crossing vehicle received moderate injuries, and was transported to a hospital in Sikeston.
ROAD SCHEDULED TO CLOSE IN NEW MADRID FOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
A road is scheduled to be closed in New Madrid County so crews can begin a construction project.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route D in New Madrid, between Route 153 and County Road 531, will be closed while MoDOT crews construct a new bridge over a drainage ditch.
The work is scheduled to begin on February 10th, and will end on June 12th.
