AREA WOMAN INJURED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY
A Poplar Bluff woman was injured following a vehicle crash in Butler County on Wednesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on County Road 452, north of Poplar Bluff, where a vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and struck a tree.
The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff.
THREE RIVERS COLLEGE HOSTING BALLET PERFORMANCE
The Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff will be hosting a ballet performance next week.
The college will be hosting a ballet performance of Sleeping Beauty, and features a world famous Russian ballet troupe from Moscow who will be performing the act. The event will be held at the campus’ Tinnin Fine Arts Center on Monday at 7 pm.

ROAD IN PEMISCOT COUNTY REDUCING DUE TO BRIDGE MAINTENANCE
A road in Pemiscot County is scheduled to be reduced for maintenance next week.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Northbound I-55 in Pemiscot County will be reduced to a 12-foot width restriction while MoDOT crews perform bridge maintenance.
The work is scheduled to take place on Monday through Wednesday from 7 am to 4 pm each day.

SCAM TEXT MESSAGES REPORTED IN CARTER AND BUTLER COUNTY
There have been a series of scam text messages reported in Carter and Butler County.
According to the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, numerous people throughout Carter County have been receiving multiple text messages from unknown emails and numbers, with questionable content.
An example of the scam involves being added to a group of about 20 people with numbers starting with “573-300”, which include one or two email addresses.
If you receive any of these text messages, you are recommended to not respond to or open the links provided in the messages, and to talk to your family and friends to ensure that they know not to access the texts.
PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED TO BE HELD IN RIPLEY COUNTY
There is a public hearing scheduled to be held in Ripley County in April.
The hearing will discuss Ripley County’s Five-Year and Annual Plans, and will be held on April 1st at 10 am at the Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission office on 3019 Fair Street in Poplar Bluff.

AREA ORGANIZATION HOLDING VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION
A Poplar Bluff organization is scheduling to hold a volunteer orientation event.
Haven House Inc. will be hosting the event, and is being held for individuals who want to volunteer and learn about the shelter, as well as its services and work details of the volunteers.
The main work of the volunteers include: answering calls, teaching skills and crafts to the residents, making meals, and other activities.
