WAPAPPELLO MAN ARRESTED IN ALLEGED MURDER CASE

A Wappapello man was taken into custody on suspicion of murder.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, 54 year old Bobbie Aden was booked at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department on suspicion of 1st degree murder after authorities responded to a call on shots fired in a house on Wappapello.

Officials report that when they arrived at the home, Aden was covered in blood when he opened the door, and stated that his girlfriend was dead.

In an interview with investigators, Aden told authorities that 52 year old Lelena Guard had shot herself, and that he slipped and fell in her blood. 

An autopsy has been scheduled for Guard today at 9:30 am, and the investigation into her death is currently ongoing.

THREE ARRESTED IN POPLAR BLUFF ON THEFT OF LOCAL STORE

Three individuals were taken into custody in Poplar Bluff on Wednesday after attempting to steal from a local store.

Officials with the Poplar Bluff Police Department tell KWOC News that suspects Paige Duncan, Brandon Brittingham, and Andrew Brittingham were all arrested after six police vehicles responded to a theft at a local business located within 800 feet of the department building.

Following their arrests, they were transported to the Butler County Justice Center, where they are awaiting formal charges.

ARREST MADE IN WAYNE COUNTY ON MULTIPLE CHARGES

A man was arrested in Wayne County on Thursday for multiple offense charges.

Authorities with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department report that 48 year old Michael Stover, of Des Arc, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, as well as two possession charges on marijuana and amphetamine. He was also charged on possession of drug paraphernalia, and several vehicle offenses.

He was transported to the Wayne County Jail following his arrest.

SERIOUS INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN STODDARD COUNTY

A driver was seriously injured in a vehicle collision in Stoddard County on Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision happened on Route WW, north of Dudley, where a vehicle was struck head-on after it pulled into the path of another oncoming car.

Following the crash, the driver was flown to a St. Louis hospital for treatment.

WOMAN ARRESTED IN WAYNE COUNTY ON METHAMPHETAMINE POSSESSION

A woman was taken into custody in Wayne County on methamphetamine possession.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, 35 year old Jennifer Armbruster, of Annapolis, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

Following her arrest, she was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.

ADDITIONAL CASES OF COVID-19 REPORTED ACROSS SOUTHEAST MISSOURI

More cases of the coronavirus have been reported across Southeast Missouri.

According to the Butler County Health Department, 33 cases were reported on Thursday, bringing the County’s total to 1,348 cases. Stoddard County has reported 18 new cases, making the County’s total cases 989. Of them, 172 are currently active, while 797 have recovered. The County has reported a total of 20 deaths caused by the virus.

Dunklin County now stands at 1,218 confirmed cases. Of them, 1,062 have recovered, while 145 are currently under isolation.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has reported that, as of Thursday, there have been 162,723 confirmed cases of the virus, while 2,657 deaths in the state have been directly linked to the disease.
