MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN STODDARD COUNTY ON ASSAULT CHARGES
A man was arrested in Stoddard County on Tuesday on assault charges.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 20 year old Shermarie Barnes, of Marion Illinois, was booked on 1st Degree harassment, as well as a 2nd offense charge on 4th degree domestic assault.
He was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest, with no bond.
INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN BUTLER COUNTY
Two were injured following a vehicle collision in Butler County on Tuesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision happened on US 160, east of fairdealing, where a vehicle turned into the path of another oncoming car. The vehicle was struck, which caused it to hit a third car.
An occupant of the struck vehicle was moderately injured, while an occupant of the first car suffered minor injuries. They were both transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.
MILD EARTHQUAKE RECORDED IN RIPLEY COUNTY
An earthquake was reported in Ripley County early Tuesday morning.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake was recorded about 20 miles south of Doniphan, and had a depth of around 8 miles.
The earthquake registered at a magnitude of 2.6.
PORTAGEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT IN BURGLARY INCIDENT
Authorities in New Madrid County are searching for a suspect in regards to a burglary at a school in Portageville.
According to the Portageville Police Department, the suspect was caught on surveillance cameras breaking into and stealing from a football concession stand early morning on Sunday. A video of the incident is available on the Portageville Police Department’s Facebook page.
A cash reward is being offered for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspect. If you know the identity of the suspect, you are asked to contact the department by calling 573-379-5500.
POPLAR BLUFF MAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION CHARGE
A Poplar Bluff man was taken into custody in Butler County on Saturday on drug possession.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, the 17 year old male was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – 7 pills of Xanax/Alprazolam.
Following his arrest, he was transported to the Butler County Jail.
ROADWAY SET FOR REDUCTION IN PEMISCOT COUNTY FOR REPAIRS
A roadway in Pemiscot County is scheduled for reduction while bridge repairs are underway.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Southbound Interstate 55, from mile marker 28 to mile marker 27, in Portageville, will be reduced to one lane with a 13-foot width restriction while MODOT crews perform bridge repairs.
The work will start today and finish on October 14th, from 7 am to 5 pm daily.
