PEDESTRIAN KILLED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN STODDARD COUNTY
A pedestrian was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Stoddard County on Saturday.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that the crash happened on Missouri 25, north of Bloomfield, where 78 year old Billy Bell, of Bloomfield, was struck while he was crossing the roadway.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
ARREST MADE IN WAYNE COUNTY ON DRUG AND FIREARM CHARGES
A man was taken into custody in Wayne County on Sunday on drug and firearm charges.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, 49 year old Patrick Hutchison, of Cash Arkansas, was arrested on a felony warrant out of Crittenden County Arkansas for possession of drugs and firearms.
Following his arrest, he was transported to the Wayne County Jail, with no bond.
ROADWAY IN RIPLEY COUNTY SCHEDULED TO CLOSE FOR MAINTENANCE
A roadway in Ripley County will be closed while undergoing maintenance.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route C, located about a mile from the Route 160 junction, will be closed while MODOT crews replace a culvert underneath the roadway.
The work is set to begin today at 8 am, and is expected to be completed by 2 pm.
BUTLER COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT HOSTING COVID-19 TESTING TODAY
The Butler County Health Department will be hosting a drive through coronavirus testing today.
According to the Department, the test will be performed by nasal swab, and participants will be asked questions about any symptoms they may have. The test is free and available to all Missouri citizens, and test results will be sent by phone.
The testing will be held at the Whiteley Park, at the Intersection of Highway 53 and 142, from 9 am to 3 pm.
NEW MADRID COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT SEARCHING FOR SUSPECT
Officials with the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department are searching for a suspect that is believed to be in New Madrid.
According to the department, the suspect, Jarrod Jones, boarded a bus in Florida, with a destination to Matthews in New Madrid County. He is described as a 5’10, 150 lbs man with black hair and eyes, and was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, with blue jeans, and a green beanie. A picture of him is available on the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department’s Facebook page.

TWO DEXTER RESIDENTS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN STODDARD COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES
Two Dexter residents were arrested in Stoddard County on drug possession charges.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 29 year old James Jackson, and 35 year old Lauren Thorne were booked on Possession of a controlled substance – except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid.
They were both transported to the Stoddard County Jail following their arrests, on a $7,500 cash only bond.
