SEVERAL ARRESTS MADE IN STODDARD COUNTY FOLLOWING NARCOTICS SWEEP
Officials with several departments have made multiple arrests in Stoddard County following a narcotic sweep in Dexter.
According to the Dexter Police Department, authorities with the department, as well as officials from the SEMO Drug Task Force, Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, made several arrests and citations following a targeted narcotics sweep from Friday through Saturday.
There were 17 arrests made during this time, several of which were made on possession of controlled substances, warrant charges, and driving while intoxicated.

ROAD CLOSED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY DUE TO FLOODING
A road is scheduled to close in New Madrid County due to flooding waters.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a portion of Route 162 has been closed due to rising waters from the Mississippi River.

CHILDREN’S ENTERTAINMENT AND RESOURCE EVENT SCHEDULED IN POPLAR BLUFF
There is a children’s entertainment and resource event that has been scheduled for April in Poplar Bluff.
The “Silly Saturday” early childhood resource fair will feature entertainment, games, stories, arts and crafts, and more activities for children age zero through eight, and resource information will be available for parents.
The event is scheduled to be held at the Bess Activity Center at the Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff on April 18th, from 10 am to 2 pm.
AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING SUSPICIOUS DEATH IN RANDOLPH COUNTY
Officials with Randolph County are investigating the death of a Jonesboro man.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, officials were dispatched to Highway 115, near Maynard, where Brandon Will was found passed out inside a vehicle.
Reports state that he was in a physical altercation, and later died of his injuries.
More information will become available as the investigation continues, and Will’s body has been sent for an autopsy to discover his cause of death.
MAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE
An area man was taken into custody in Butler County on Monday on possession of methamphetamine.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 36 year old Terry McCormick, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Butler County Jail following his arrest.
DAY OF SERVICE SCHEDULED FOR THE END OF THE MONTH
A day of service has been scheduled in Poplar Bluff for February 29th.
The event will start with brunch at 10 am at the Rescue Mission on 400 South Broadway, followed by a brief program on the days scheduled events. Several services have been planned, and groups will be formed during the brunch to help with a number of projects.
