DONIPHAN SCHOOL CLOSED FOR THE WEEK DUE TO SICKNESS
Students of the Doniphan R-1 School District will be missing classes due to illness.
According to the Doniphan R-1 School School Superintendent Brad Hagood, the school will be closed today through Monday because of several cases of student sickness, as well as the rising waters from recent heavy rainfall.
The school will resume classes as normal on Tuesday.
WOMAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE
A woman was taken into custody in Butler County on Wednesday on possession of methamphetamine.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, 55 year old Sandra Brown, of St. Louis, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
She was transported to the Butler County Jail following his arrest.
VETERANS LUNCH TO BE HELD AT POPLAR BLUFF
There will be an event hosted for veterans in Poplar Bluff today.
The lunch event will be held for veterans and their families to enjoy a meal in honor of the eleven area veterans, and their services. Additionally, proclamations will be made by Missouri Senator Doug Libla, and Governor Parson.
It will be held today at 11 am, at the National Guard Armory in Poplar Bluff.
INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN WAYNE COUNTY
A driver was injured in Wayne County following a vehicle crash on Wednesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Route z, near Wappapello, where a vehicle ran off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail.
The driver of the vehicle received moderate injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff.
MAN ARRESTED IN PEMISCOT COUNTY ON MULTIPLE DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES
A man was taken into custody on multiple drug possession charges in Pemiscot County on Wednesday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that 29 year old Casey Flanagan, of Steele, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, hydrocodone, and alprazolam, and marijuana.
He was additionally charged on possession of drug paraphernalia, and was transported to the Pemiscot County Jail.
THREE RIVERS ENDOWMENT TRUST SCHEDULED TO HOLD TRIVIA NIGHT
The Three Rivers Community College will be holding their annual Trivia Night Fundraiser in a few weeks.
The proceeds gained from the fundraiser go towards benefiting scholarships for students of TRCC, and includes a dinner and cash bar, along with the trivia competition itself.
Tables for the event will be $120, and it will begin at 5 pm. It will be held at the Holiday Inn in Poplar Bluff, on February 27th.

CEMETERY CLEAN UP SCHEDULED FOR CITY OF POPLAR BLUFF
The city of Poplar Bluff will be having its annual cemetery clean up next month.
The cleanup will be done by the Poplar Bluff Cemetery Department, and the office asks residents to remove any flower arrangements, personal items, or other decorations that would like to be kept, before the cleanup begins.
The cleaning will begin on March 2nd, and will continue through April 31st. Decorations can be returned on April 1st.
