POLICE IN POPLAR BLUFF OFFERING REWARD FOR INFORMATION ON SHOOTING SUSPECT

 

The Poplar Bluff Police department has issued a reward for information on the suspect of a shooting that occurred on Sunday.

The suspect is described as a black male with a height of 6’2, and a weight of about 180 pounds. He was last seen in dark clothing with a hoodie.

The man is suspected in the shootings that occurred on Sunday at Bacon Park and the 1500 block of Wallace Street, and is considered armed and dangerous.

METH AND MARIJUANA FOUND IN CARTER COUNTY

 

Methamphetamine and Marijuana was found in Carter County on Sunday.

According to the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, a traffic stop led to the discovery of over 7 grams of meth, and 6 grams of marijuana, and a man and woman were arrested as a result.

A manufacturing grow facility was also discovered, and was removed by authorities.

MODOT CREWS CLOSING ROAD FOR REPAIRS IN RIPLEY COUNTY

 

A road will be closed in Ripley County for pipe replacements on Wednesday.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will be closing a section of Route A in Ripley County, 5 miles south of Route 21, while the work is underway from 8 am to 3 pm.

POTENTIAL HOMICIDE CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION IN CLAY COUNTY

 

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating a potential homicide in Clay County on Sunday.

According to the department, officials received a call to St. Francis which led to the discovery of 74 year old Larry Boyer, who was found deceased in his front yard.

The investigation into his death is ongoing, and more information will be available as it proceeds.

ILLINOIS WOMAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES

 

Authorities in Stoddard County have arrested an Illinois woman on drug possession charges.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 22 year old Mary Parsley, of Murphsbory, was booked on a charge on possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid, and possession of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid of 10 grams or less.

After the arrest, Parsley was taken to the Stoddard County Jail on a $10,000 cash only bond.

JOB AND TRANSFER FAIR SCHEDULED FOR APRIL

 

There will be two fairs held at the Three Rivers Community College in April.

The Butler County Community Resource Council says, that both a Job Fair and a College Transfer Fair will be held on campus grounds, and will help students find what career path they wish to pursue.

The two events will be held at the Bess Activity Center from 10 am to 1 pm on Wednesday, April 2nd.
