GUNFIRE AND VEHICLE DAMAGE REPORTED IN POPLAR BLUFF
Officials in Poplar Bluff responded to gunfire reports in the city on Monday.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, gunfire was reported in Maude and 11th Streets, where a vehicle was shot five times while it was traveling through Mary Street.
The driver, a Poplar Bluff resident, reported that the vehicle was a gray car with tinted windows.
Authorities are investigating the incident, and more information will be available as it proceeds.
WOMAN ARRESTED IN WAYNE COUNTY ON METHAMPHETAMINE CHARGE
Authorities in Wayne County arrested a woman on a methamphetamine possession charge.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 42 year old Jodie Pullum, of Festus, was taken into custody on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
She was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department following her arrest.
ROAD IN STODDARD COUNTY CLOSING FOR BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
A road will be closed in Stoddard County throughout March for repairs.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Route Z will be closed while crews replace the bridge over the drainage ditch between County Road 755 and Route 153, and the work will take place between March 2nd and April 15th.

MAN CHARGED IN SHOOTING INCIDENT IN NEW MADRID COUNTY
A man has been charged in relation to a shooting that occurred in New Madrid.
According to the New Madrid County Sheriff Department, Jeremy Guest has been charged with first degree murder, armed criminal action, and an additional charge on robbery.
These charges are from the shooting that occurred on Saturday, where 27 year old Datrae Hicks had been shot, and later died of his wounds.
Several agencies, including the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, Police Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, are further investigating the shooting.
CITY OF POPLAR BLUFF VOTES 4-2 ON SHELBY ROAD PROPERTY PURCHASE
The City Council of Poplar Bluff voted 4-2 on the decision to finance the purchase property of Shelby Road.
The city will be paying just over $1 million for the property, with the rest being funded by the First Midwest Bank on a 3.6% interest rate for the funds.
The property has many potential uses by the city, including the construction of an additional Police Department, which will be discussed in a separate meeting on March 2nd.
TWO EARTHQUAKES REPORTED IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
There were two earthquakes reported in Southeast Missouri on Tuesday.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the first earthquake struck early morning in New Madrid County, near Marston, and registered at 2.0 magnitude, with a depth of six miles.
The second quake hit in the evening in Pemiscot County, close to Holland, and had a magnitude of 2.3, with a depth of around 4 miles.
