ADDITIONAL CASES OF COVID-19 REPORTED IN BUTLER COUNTY, MISSOURI TOTAL NOW OVER 100,000
More cases of the coronavirus were reported in Butler County, while the total cases of the virus in Missouri have risen past 100,000.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, there were 27 additional cases reported over the weekend, raising the County’s total to 502 cases. The patients have been self-isolated, and the department will be working with the CDC to contact anyone who may have been exposed to the virus while the patients were active and infectious.
In Missouri, as of Sunday, there are now 102,747 confirmed cases of the virus in the state, while 1,705 deaths were directly linked to the disease.

MAN ARRESTED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES
A man was taken into custody in New Madrid County on Sunday on multiple drug possession charges.
According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, 46 year old Stephen Joiner, of Cape Girardeau, was arrested on two felony possession of a controlled substance charges – methamphetamine and amphetamine, as well as two charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
Following his arrest, he was transported to the New Madrid County Jail.
ROADWAY IN BUTLER AND STODDARD COUNTIES SCHEDULED FOR REDUCTION DURING BRIDGE REPAIRS
A roadway stretching through Stoddard and Butler Counties will be reduced while undergoing bridge repairs.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Eastbound US Route 60, from Route 51 to Route DD near Fisk, will be reduced while MODOT crews repair the bridge over the Saint Francis River.
The work is set to begin today at 6 am, and is expected to be completed by tomorrow at 5 pm.
DRIVER INJURED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN WAYNE COUNTY
A driver was injured following a vehicle crash in Wayne County on Saturday.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, the incident took place on Missouri 34, east of Silva, where a vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree.
The driver suffered moderate injuries from the crash, and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.
DEXTER MAN BOOKED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON SODOMY AND MISCONDUCT CHARGES
A Dexter man was taken into custody in Stoddard County on Friday on sodomy and sexual misconduct charges.
Officials with the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department tell KWOC News that 29 year old Ean Wilson was booked on Statutory Sodomy or Attempted Statutory Sodomy – deviate sexual intercourse of a person less than 12 years of age, as well of 3 counts of sexual misconduct involving a child under 15.
Following his arrest, he was transported to the Stoddard County Jail.
POPLAR BLUFF MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN NEW MADRID COUNTY ON ASSAULT AND DRUG CHARGES
A Poplar Bluff man was arrested in New Madrid County on assault and drug charges on Saturday.
According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, 41 year old Landress King was taken into custody on a felony Poplar Bluff warrant for assault, as well as felony possession of a controlled substance – six hydrocodone pills.
He was transported to the New Madrid County Jail following his arrest.
