POPLAR BLUFF MAN FACING MULTIPLE STATUTORY SODOMY CHARGES
Authorities in Butler County have arrested an area man on multiple statutory sodomy charges.
According to Missouri Case Net, a warrant was served last week for 49 year old Kenneth Vass, of Poplar Bluff, on three charges of felony second degree statutory sodomy.
No bond was set in the case and Vass remains in custody at the Butler County Detention Center.
Vass is scheduled to appear in court next week.
TEXAS MAN WANTED IN CONNECTION TO SOUTHEAST MISSOURI HOMICIDE
Authorities in Caruthersville are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in a homicide investigation.
Officials with the Caruthersville Police Department tell KWOC News that 24 year old Eddie Dewayne Hunt Jr, of Mesquite, Texas is accused of shooting 23 year old Wayneasha Carter, of Caruthersville, on June 11th.
Carter had reportedly stepped out of her vehicle to talk to several subjects on East 13th Street when shots rang out from the side of a residence and struck her.
Carter was later pronounced dead at a Hayti hospital.
Officials say that information gained during the investigation led to Hunt being identified as the alleged shooter.
Hunt is originally from Hayti Heights and is being considered armed and dangerous. He is wanted on charges of 1st degree murder and armed criminal action.

EIGHT LADY RAIDER SOFTBALL PLAYERS NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICANS
Eight members of the Three Rivers College Lady Raiders softball team have been named as NJCAA Academic All-Americans.
A total of four members of the squad were named as 1st team Academic All Americans, Halle Benskin, Jessica Hulsey, Kaitlyn Ragsdale, and Abby Wilson.
Two more were on the 2nd team, Audrey Rahlmann and Alaney Moore.
Kenlee McAuliffe and Makayla Bryant were named as 3rd team Academic All Americans.
On Wednesday, Three Rivers College also announced that the Lady Raiders Basketball team was selected as one of the NJCAA Academic Teams of the year. The Lady Raiders had a 3.35 team GPA.
YOUTH FALL BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL REGISTRATION UNDERWAY IN POPLAR BLUFF
Now is the time to register your children for fall baseball and softball in Poplar Bluff.
According to the Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation office, boys and girls ages three to 13 can be registered for the youth fall baseball and softball seasons through July 29th.
Players will be placed in leagues based on age.
Registration forms are available at the Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation office on North Second Street and online at pbparks.org.

The Migratory Bird and Waterfowl Hunting Digest 2022-2023 has detailed information on waterfowl hunting along with hunting doves and several other migratory game birds such as rail, snipe, and woodcock.
Both booklets are available where permits are sold and online at mdc.mo.gov.
ROUTE 53 IN BUTLER COUNTY TO BE REDUCED TODAY FOR PAVEMENT REPAIRS
Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will be in Butler County today for pavement repairs.
According to MoDOT officials, Route 53 in Butler County will be reduced today from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. so crews can mill the roadway.
The work zone will be located from Route UU to County Road 218.
