CREWS EVACUATE OVER 20 PEOPLE FROM FLOOD WATERS
Crews in Madison County evacuated over 20 people from floodwaters in the Fredericktown area.
According to the Fredericktown Fire Department, they began handling a high number of calls beginning at roughly 3 am Thursday morning related to the strong thunderstorms and flash flooding.
Officials say that crews consisting of the City of Fredericktown Street Department, members of the fire department, and several volunteers evacuated 21 people from the flood waters.
The department also responded to numerous vehicles stranded in high water.
As of Thursday afternoon, no injuries had been reported.
STODDARD COUNTY MURDER TO BE FEATURED ON NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY
A documentary featuring a Southeast Missouri murder case will be debuting on Netflix this month.
According to the Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the Netflix documentary series “I am a Killer” will be premiering on August 30th.
The episode “A Question of Loyalty” will profile the prosecution of Victoria Isaac for the murder of her husband, Puxico resident Chris Isaac.
Officials say that Victoria Isaac was given a life sentence plus 20 years in connection to the case.
OZARK BORDER ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE MEETING SET FOR TODAY
Ozark Border Electric Cooperative will be holding their annual membership meeting today.
The meeting was scheduled to begin at 7 am. Drive through registration and voting will be until 2 pm, followed by the business meeting at 2:30 pm.
The meeting will be held at the Ozark Border headquarters, located on South Westwood Boulevard in Poplar Bluff.
TWIN RIVERS SCHOOL DISTRICT REGISTRATION EVENT SCHEDULED FOR NEXT WEEK
The Twin Rivers School District has announced that it will be holding a registration event for all students next week.
Royal Registration is scheduled for 12 to 6 pm on Tuesday, August 9th and Thursday, August 11th at Twin Rivers High School in Broseley.
The Tuesday date is for students whose primary parent or guardian’s last name begins with A-K, while Thursday will be for names beginning with L-Z.
School pictures will be taken and class schedules will be distributed during the event.
School officials will also be available to answer questions.

DUCK BLIND DRAWING AND REGISTRATION TO BE HELD THIS MONTH
A date has been announced for the annual duck blind drawing at Wappapello Lake.
According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers the drawing and registration will be held at 9:00 a.m. on August 20th, at the Bill Emerson Memorial Visitors Center.
The registration fee is $15 and applicants must bring cash, a personal check, or money order.
Permitted duck blinds may be placed on the lake after Labor Day and must be removed from the lake, or transferred to a permitted storage cove, within two weeks of the closure of the zoned duck season.

STODDARD COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED FOR THE REST OF THIS MONTH
Route P in Stoddard and Cape Girardeau Counties will be closed for the rest of this month as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of roadway to be closed is located from Route 91 in Bell City to Route 25 in Delta.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, through Tuesday, August 30th.
Officials say the work zone will remain in place 24 hours a day until work is completed.
