The probable cause statement says that Woods admitted to investigators last week that she had inappropriate contact with the victim.

CITY OF DEXTER AWARDED GRANT FOR LAKE UPGRADES

The Dexter city lake recently got improvements thanks to a partnership between the Missouri Department of Conservation and local officials.

The MDC and the City of Dexter recently worked together to bring restroom facilities and a walkway to Dexter City Lake through a Land Conservation Partnership Grant.

Through the agreement, MDC provided a grant to the city for reimbursement of costs associated with construction and placement of an Americans with Disabilities Act accessible single-user concrete restroom and reinforced concrete walkway, which totaled over $29,000.

The entire cost of the project was roughly $70,000, with the remaining amount covered by the City of Dexter.

PUBLIC HEARING SET FOR NEXT WEEK TO DISCUSS POPLAR BLUFF GRANT APPLICATION

A public hearing will be held next week to discuss the submission of Poplar Bluff’s application for a FEMA Building Resilient Infrastructure and Community Grant.

The City of Poplar Bluff will be applying for funds to drill and install a new well near the water storage tank on Alice Street. The total project cost is estimated at $1.3 million dollars.

The hearing has been scheduled for Monday, December 18th at 6:45 pm in the Poplar Bluff City Council Chambers at the Black River Coliseum.
