RIVER RADIO TO HOST ST. JUDE RADIOTHON THIS WEEK
This week River Radio will be devoting 24 hours of air time to help the kids at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The River Radio St. Jude Radiothon will be held Thursday and Friday from 6 am to 6 pm each day.
During the radiothon, call in to become a partner in hope and help the kids at St. Jude.
On Friday during the Radiothon, PB Realty will be making hotdogs in the River Radio parking lot. They will also be accepting donations that will go to St. Jude. Last year PB Realty raised over $5,700.
The hotdogs will be ready by 10:30 and local businesses can also make arrangements to have deliveries made.

INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY FOLLOWING FATAL SHOOTING IN SIKESTON
Law enforcement in Sikeston are investigating a fatal shooting.
Sergeant Tyler Rowe with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety tells KWOC news that they received several reports of gunfire coming from the Rotary Park area Tuesday afternoon.
An investigation was conducted and officers were able to determine that an altercation between several individuals occurred at the park leaving one subject deceased and another suffering from life threatening injuries.
Rowe says that the deceased is an 18 year old male and the injured victim is an 18 year old female. The names of both victims are not being released at this time, and all individuals involved are not from the Sikeston Area.
The investigation is being conducted by the Sikeston DPS Criminal Investigations Unit with the assistance of the SEMO Major Case Squad.
ADVANCE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP VOLLEYBALL TEAM TO MEET MISSOURI GOVERNOR TODAY
A Southeast Missouri volleyball team will be meeting the Missouri Governor today.
Governor Mike Parson will be hosting the 2022 Class 1 State Champion Advance Lady Hornets for a meet and greet in his office.
The Lady Hornets completed their season in November by defeating the Miller Cardinals in the Class 1 Finals.
It was Advance’s fourth state championship in Volleyball. They have won the state championship in four of the last five years.
23rd ANNUAL POPLAR BLUFF SCHOOL FOUNDATION GOLF TOURNAMENT SET FOR FRIDAY
The 23rd Annual Poplar Bluff School Foundation Golf Tournament will tee off this week.
The four person scramble tournament is scheduled for Friday at the Ozark Ridge Golf Course. Tee time will be at noon.
All proceeds from the event will go towards innovative teacher grants outside of the classroom budget, and a student scholarship for a PBHS graduate entering the field of education.

CULVERT REPLACEMENT TO FORCE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF ROAD NEAR POPLAR BLUFF
Route F in Butler County will be closed today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.
The section of roadway to be closed is located between Route 160 and County Road 488 near Poplar Bluff.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 8 a.m. to noon.
2023 SARAH JARBOE WHITE UCAN WALK SET FOR SATURDAY
The 2023 Sarah Jarboe White UCAN walk is coming up this weekend in Poplar Bluff.
According to the United Cancer Assistance Network, the annual three mile walk will be held on Saturday, beginning at 9:30 am at the Danny Bell Cancer Center.
Officials say that over $350,000 has been raised over the past 12 years of the event.
The money has gone to help cancer patients with transportation, utilities, groceries, medical expenses, housing, nutritional supplements, and many other necessities while they are going through chemotherapy and radiation and are unable to continue to work.

2ND ANNUAL WAKE FOUNDATION GALA SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 28TH
The 2nd Annual Wake Foundation Gala is coming up this Friday in Poplar Bluff.
The event has been scheduled for 5 pm on Friday at the Black River Coliseum.
There will be a live and silent auction, raffles, live music, and more.

SHOULDER REPAIRS TO START TODAY ON ROUTE 25 IN STODDARD COUNTY
Route 25 in Stoddard County will be reduced beginning today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform shoulder work.
The section of roadway being reduced is located from Route AC to Route AB near Bloomfield.
Weather permitting, work will take place both today and tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
