POST SEASON BASKETBALL FOR THE NEW MADRID COUNTY CENTRAL EAGLES TO BE BROADCAST ON SHUFFLE 929

We are excited to announce that our sister station Shuffle 929 will be your post season basketball home for the New Madrid County Central Eagles.

First up is the Class 3, District 1 Tournament from February 20th through the 24th. The Eagles are looking to win a 4th consecutive district championship and every game will be broadcast on Shuffle 929 and live streamed on MSHSAA.tv.

INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY FOLLOWING POSSIBLE THREAT AGAINST NORTHEAST ARKANSAS SCHOOL

Authorities in Northeast Arkansas are investigating a social media post that alluded to a threat against an area school.

According to the Paragould Police Department, early Monday morning, they learned of a Facebook picture that was circulating that contained an individual holding a rifle with the caption “This school aint ready for this”.

Police officials say that the threat has been addressed and an investigation is actively moving forward at this time.

The subject was identified and taken into custody, however their name was not released.

Police officials are thanking the community for bringing the matter to their attention quickly.

POPLAR BLUFF MIDDLE SCHOOL TO BE RAISING MONEY FOR ST. JUDE THIS WEEK

Area Middle School students will be raising money for the kids at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital this week.

Poplar Bluff Middle School will be hosting the Skate City night fundraiser at 5:30 pm tonight for kids in 4th and 5th grade. 6th grade students will have the opportunity to skate on Thursday at 5:30 pm.

The entry fee is $3 each night and part of the proceeds from both nights will be donated to St. Jude.

POPLAR BLUFF MAN ARRESTED ON METH CHARGE

A Poplar Bluff man was taken into custody over the weekend on a felony drug charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 60 year old Charles Harris was arrested on Saturday on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine.

Harris is also facing charges of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance, and no seat belt.

Following the arrest, he was held at the Butler County Sheriff’s Department.

CREWS TO BE IN NEW MADRID COUNTY TODAY FOR BRIDGE MAINTENANCE

U.S. Route 61 in New Madrid County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.

The bridge is located between Bloomfield Road and County Road 502 near New Madrid.

Weather permitting, work will take place today from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

BRIDGE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULED FOR TODAY ON US ROUTE 61

Route 61 in Pemiscot County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction over two days as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.

The section of roadway involved in the project is located between County Road 470 and County Road 480 near Holland.

Weather permitting, work will take place both today and tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
