MAN FLOWN TO ST. LOUIS HOSPITAL FOLLOWING CRASH NEAR POPLAR BLUFF
An area man was flown from the scene of a crash over the weekend near Poplar Bluff.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 70 year old man was driving on Highway 142, four miles south of Poplar Bluff, when his vehicle ran off the side of the roadway and struck a tree.
The crash occurred at around 1 pm Saturday afternoon.
The man suffered serious injuries in the crash and was flown to a St. Louis hospital.
OPENING DATES SET FOR MULTIPLE WAPPAPELLO LAKE CAMPGROUNDS
Multiple Wappapello Lake Campgrounds will be opening to the public soon.
According to the Wappapello Lake US Army Corps of Engineers, the Greenville and Redman Creek East Campgrounds will open to campers on March 19th.
The People’s Creek Upper and Lower Campgrounds are scheduled to open on April 9th.

DUNKLIN COUNTY LOTTERY PLAYER CELEBRATES ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLAR WIN
A six figure winning scratchers ticket was recently sold in Southeast Missouri.
According to the Missouri Lottery, a woman won $100,000 from a scratchers ticket she purchased at a business in Kennett.
The winner said that she was in shock when she scratched off the ticket. She added that it didn’t feel real until she got to the Missouri Lottery office and they confirmed that she had won $100,000.
LUCKY LEPRECHAUN 5K SET FOR MARCH 15TH
A sea of green will be overtaking McLane Park in Poplar Bluff this month.
The Lucky Leprechaun 5k has been scheduled for Saturday, March 15th at McLane Park. Check-in will begin at 10:30 am, with the run starting at 11 am.
The cost to enter is $30 with proceeds going to benefit the all inclusive Robert’s Adventure Playground and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.

PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD THIS WEEK IN BUTLER COUNTY TO DISCUSS BLOCK GRANTS
A public hearing has been scheduled for this week concerning block grant performance in Butler County.
Butler County will hold a public hearing at 9 a.m. on Friday in the Commission Chambers to discuss the past performance by the County in carrying out the 2021 Community Development Block Grant funded Harviell Phase II paving project.
The project consisted of the paving improvements of streets in the town of Harviell encompassing the entire streets area from East Main to Mangold streets, shoulder and side ditch creation, and culvert repairs.

SHOULDER WORK SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK ON ROUTE 142 IN BUTLER COUNTY
Route 142 in Butler County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform shoulder work.
The section of roadway being reduced is located from County Road 332 to County Road 348.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Thursday, March 13.
